That's confirmed?

Nope. Don’t hate him or anything. Just too much baggage at this point. We need to focus on building a contender and molding youngsters into winners. Dwight’s not the guy I would want around this group.

I would only accept Dwight back if he came as a package deal with Stan.

nahh, not even then.

If he's coming here for the right reasons... wants to fit in the system... Has matured over the years and still has it in the tank to make a difference. Yup... No problem at all.

Pretty sure he's not trying to come back just to redo his BS.... But to make amends and pay respect to the city... It will be a great way to end his career.

We’re good.

Dwight’s problem is the block on top of his two shoulders. He’s just off.

He should do away with the Sho'Nuff hairstyle and comeback with a fresh cut! :D

Also isn't he still signed with his overseas and if so can he be bought out?

We could possibly have 3 number #1 picks on our roster as well!

Yup.

For me the baggage is a distraction and what is holding teams back from signing him.

Dwight looks cheap nowadays. I saw a picture of Dwight when he was in the Magic, much respected young man. Now he acts like a complete 180.

Downside is > than the upside. No thank you. Obviously the decision is not based off of if he is good enough of a player. We could use a guy that does what he does well.

Contrary to what Dwight thinks, he'd do piss-poor job in Stuff costume, so no.

As a set of words linked together, this quote made my day. Thank you!

I don't hate the guy. I think he gave up a great situation only to find the grass wasn't greener on the other side. That happens to people in all types of life situations. It doesn't help that he had people in his ear telling him he'd be better off outside of Orlando.

Right now, I don't think he adds anything on or off the court for the Magic. He wouldn't be a major contributor on the current roster. He has never exactly been a great locker room presence. As a nostalgia act, he wouldn't sell any tickets. Even if you did it for the feels, wouldn't you rather the fan base fall in love with the current roster instead?

It just doesn't make sense for anyone involved IMO.

If he could understand and genuinely agree that his role would be 10 +/- inures per game backing up the younger center, mentor some of the younger players, and even some interviews, sure, I would welcome me him back.

But realistically, how likely is he to genuinely recognize that he gets garbage time? And, do we really want him mentoring young players?

I’d be very cautious but in the right set of circumstances, I would sign him. He can still provide quality minutes in limited playtime. Just don’t expect a resurgence and the “old” D12 that he was before the outbursts and he was traded.

Yeah if that were the reason, I'd be okay with it.

Management will sign you if you make their job easy for them.

Unfortunately for Dwight, there are more cons to signing him than anything.

Also, new management group and he seevered ties with the owner. There’s almost no sentimental **** going on here except for the fans.

Exactly…this is not a Shaq-like feel-good story type of guy…he’s kind of a jerk and it’s not like his basketball skills are still something we would value enough to overlook that. He’s not a guy that can “accept his role”, “mentor the young guns”, etc…I can’t imagine him having the maturity to recognize his place on the team in 2023.
