I can certainly understand why some people might be hesitant to buy games especially 2k, that’s why it’s a good thing prices drop and there’s platforms like YouTube and twitch where you can watch people play these games and then decide for yourself if you would like to make a purchase of the game.

I might just be too old to get it, but I never understood the appeal of watching other people play a video game. I just know that I would never pay full price for a regurgitated version of last years game with new cut scenes and updated rosters. Its mind-blowing that people line up to do that every year

like...system? TV? I mean...I'm in my 40's. I don't own a TV as they don't have a purpose today. I haven't had a console since the first playstation. So I'm out of the loop on all this stuff.

Purpose?, well unless you’re not entertained by things on a screen then yes a tv properly doesn’t serve much of a purpose to you or people who decide to live that type of life style. The system with the latest upgrades are PS5 & Xbox series x.

There are non TV screens...

I'm not sure what's really mind blowing about it. $60 a year is not really that much money. A venti iced coffee at Starbucks is $6 now. You're talking about potentially hours of entertainment for $60. If you take your wife to a movie it's probably $40 with drinks / popcorn.

If anything, it's the biggest value in the world

Fair point, The appeal is to learn about the game asap or just the enjoyment of seeing the game up close without purchasing it, or even better yet helping you make a decision to purchase the game.

Counterpoint: its not hours of entertainment, its hours of frustration because the game makes you jump through a bunch of hoops doing useless tasks like rapping, fashion shows, and practices for VC and XP because your guy is so trash for the first half of his rookie season, and thats the only way to (slowly) improve. The only solution to avoid all of that is to spend even more money from the jump, and by then you're looking at least a $100 investment just for a mid myCareer experience. For my money, I would rather just wait a couple months and find something else to play in the meantime. That's just my take though.

IMO, I don't understand why 2K isn't a monthly subscription with OTA updates. It doesn't seem like the game changes enough from year to year outside of rosters to care to buy it. However, if it was a $8/mo subscription I probably wouldn't even be bothered to cancel it.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
You know the biggest reason it’s not a monthly subscription, because 2k would be losing so much money they would run out of business by the end of next year probably.

I can certainly understand why it should/could be a game just be being on a monthly subscriptions but it’s just not going to happen that way.

Counterpoint: if you’re going to play a my career mode, and you start of as a bench player,6th man or even a starter, there’s are the type of things most players do during the season and in the offseason, now obviously if you don’t like it you can upgrade by purchasing VC’s to upgrade faster. In a way I totally understand your point, though if you want to be realistic this is how it is in the real world of pro sports.

Or the king, a good old computer monitor! The best screen and only one you need (well you need like 6 of them).

You ordered a large hot coffee - after tax, it's over $3. Venti signifies the large size.

A venti Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is almost $6 now...things have changed.

 it is 6 bucks because it’s the largest cup, it’s a Starbucks brand and because it is delicious, is it overpriced? somewhat but that’s how the world works.

Oh dear, I don’t think people have the understanding of how hard it is to keep improving games whilst keep making profit.

Is there game better then last year? I would like to say so, but I won’t exactly know until next week when the game out officially.

Could they make the graphics as good as under cover or virtual basketball? Possibly but what do you do next year then, when you cannot possible ante up the graphics any longer, the point I’m trying to make is if you advance everything all at once, there’s not enough time to improve on things within that one year time-frame. Because you do not have the technology to do so improve on things you just put out, all company’s would lose interest and money if that mindset took place.

To say you can’t possibly ante up the graphics any longer doesn’t make sense when technology is always evolving.

I obviously mean in that time-frame. Things are moving quicker and quicker with technology and it’s getting downright terrifying, there’s people saying we should be slowing down not speeding up but that’s a topic for another day.

The issue here is that 2k is still releasing the game on current gen. So their focus isn’t primarily on next gen and using it to its full potential. Once they finally phase out current gen then we’ll start to see big changes.
