You hear anything along these lines other than the Kopps talk?

I was surprised Murray extended since it seemed like he’d make way more if he rode it out a year. And it’s not like the fit worked so great so far.

Holiday would be a perfect fit to cover up Young’s weaknesses. And Bobby would be great for them too.

However plotting out a trade that could only be made 3 months from now seems odd. Not impossible though.

I’d imagine SAS has similar hopes for Tre Jones who also kind of fits your statement here.. any freshman guards that come from powerhouse universities usually figure it out and turn out to be useful NBA players to say the least. I’m hopeful we struck gold here with Washington. He showed some flash as a 20yr old rookie and can definitely play. A year in a system like ours should do him plenty good and maybe he’s our PG of the future. Weirder stuff has certainly happened right?
The way I'm looking at Tyty is that we just got a young PG as the 29th pick in the '22 draft. Even better he's on a 2way contract. Just plenty of talent to work with , smart player in the exact position we need.

i would be optimistic about Tyty but two organizations have now passed on him in the span of a year (and he shot 25% from 3). just going to assume there's not much there.

Before the nepotism and star-privilege police jump all over this, one question: why not?

Arguments about the sanctity of a G-League roster spot will be laughed out of court.

For Giannis, Thanasis and Al
I think this is good for morale
With Jesus and Matty
Felipe was chatty
When they played the same outfield locale

Ahem-unney. I just didn't say anything, looking at the roster & linking Rolo. Assumed it was training camp deal, nothing unexpected.

There are some decent why nots to me. I think you've got some plausible deniability on nepotism claims with Thanasis, who is NBA-level in *some* ways. Alex is not even close; I don't think he has even average physical tools for a NBA wing.

So if you want a competitive camp, this is inauspicious. Ideally you'd have somebody who's going to push somebody for one of those 2 way spots.

Maybe more importantly, though, this is coming off Giannis publicly implying that his teammates are spending too much time with their families. It's a ragged joint, trying to pull those two things together.

All in all, I don't think it's a huge deal, and if they're going to just cut him right away like they did last year and not actually bring him to camp, it's insignificant.

In some ways it does seem quite hypocritical for Giannis to talk about players and coaches needing to spend time away from their families after Bud coached through a playoff series after his brother passed away and then Giannis has the Bucks sign all of his brothers. I mean I get that the Bucks have to do what it takes to keep Giannis happy but man, he's really taken quite turn in the last year

They signed Alex last year. He's on the Herd. This is nonstory .imo. It was apparently his birthday recently too( AA).

They did a sign & waive last year as teams do with several players to gain G League rights. This time it seems like they are planning on him coming to camp. There is a difference

Can't recall if I just thought this or already posted it, but Giannis being non-committal makes the next available first worth significantly more.

This is a massive stretch based on his quote.

“I would not be the best version of myself if I don’t know that everybody’s on the same page, everybody’s going for a championship, everybody’s going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don’t feel that, I’m not signing.”

No where does he say that those things aren't happening with the current team. The reason he hasn't signed is because it makes sense numbers wise to wait a year. Unless there is another quote out there you are without a doubt inferring things that aren't even there.

Pursuant to the rumor of LaVine's trade value being "gauged" by the Bulls recently, I'm wondering how they're gonna operate at or before the deadline when they inevitably start 6-12 or something. There's quite a few intriguing targets salary-matching wise in DeRozan (28), Caruso (9), Coby White (11), and Dosunmu (6).

Feel free to square the circle of "I'm sacrificing the most time with my family" and "my brothers are on the team solely to keep me company." Do it in a way that the players on the team who've taken time away for family reasons over the past couple years buy it. It's not a good quote and I doubt I'm the only one who sees that reading of it. Why bring it up if it's never been an issue?

I recall seeing a vide or reading somewhere of Giannis lamenting Alex not having fully experienced the hardships of Giannis's and Thanisis's youth in Greece and as such he worries Alex will not have the full drive. Am I imagining that? If not, it's not doing Alex any favors handing roster spots to him. But at the end of the day, shrug.

I think there was something to that effect in the Mirin Fader biography of Giannis.

Like all of us who are older brothers, I suppose Thanasis and Giannis want to keep an eye on and look out for lil bro. But as you say, shrug.

Drew Timme also signed to a deal today that would indicate he will be on the Herd following Camp
