I'm not sure what was on Twitter but I guess I can share; I didn't want to complain because I would just sound like an old man yelling at clouds (which, I mean, fair).
The pumped-in music was so loud you could not talk to the person next to you. In the first half, they were playing said music at every opportunity, even between plays, which was honestly super awkward especially when Buffalo was running tempo. Not just like some generic upbeat get loud thing for third down. I mean they were playing songs in between plays. It felt different than years past. It also completely drowned-out the PA and refs, so really you just could not hear anything.
It was better in the second half so I think someone got the memo. I don't mind they added a DJ and want to play some pumped-in music, but volume aside I still think it takes away from the Wisconsin (and really any traditional B10 team) gameday experience when the band is basically just relegated to halftime. Pump-in music during timeouts if you want and leave the rest to the band.
Wisconsin started working with sports production company Van Wagner this year to generate new looks and content for the video boards and change the overall presentation during games.
