Was the potential for a Sexton acquisition ever real / do you think it could still happen, or nah?

Careful with that line of thought - the end of that road is taking the minimum in NYC, not taking $10M in Milwaukee. I think we need to be happy to pay him the supermax and do the best we can to surround him with talent.

This makes sense for a guy to bring to camp. Not really a NBA prospect but close and a job-doer for camp, guy who won't **** us up or need his hand held.

I hear Iverson loves practice.

This post displays the sort of confusion I'd expect an AI bot to make.

Is that AI as in AI, or AI as in AI?

Yours was pretty good, but sometimes I think my own feeble attempts at humor are lost on younger posters who may not have been following the NBA over 20 years when the original AI made his very human (although probably drunk) rant.

For them, and for those of us who can never get enough:

I would also be very glad to take the $60m from another team that could be a contender.

“Could be a contender” is not “very good chance to win more titles”.
Any team that signs him for 60 mil a year will not have multiple stars.
If Giannis cares for titles and nothing else than titles, he can do something about that. But he won’t. I would like to see how he answers a question like this.

As of right now, I don't really put the Bucks in that camp. If I'm Giannis I'm not super excited playing with aging Midds and Jrue who even now might not be enough. These guys are borderline all-stars and I personally think they would be non-all stars this decade if they weren't playing with Giannis and on a #1 seed.

I'm willing to bet that if Giannis leaves, he will be leaving to be on a team that has another player better than anyone he has played with before.

Then again, maybe Horst turns Jrue and 3 picks into another all-NBA guy. I just have my doubts the owners can absorb any more payroll after this 1-2 run.

Think we have to wait, when we have more draft picks to trade a year from now. Get a bigger name. And after this upcoming season, we might learn that either Jrue, Brook or Midds have fallen off the wagon, and we'd use their salary in said trade.

Also remember, LAC might implode. As unreliable and Kawhi and PG13 are, they may go on the block.

Yeah we can’t just go Herb Kohl era and add a guy just to add a guy. It has to be a team first guy that plays great defense and smart offense. Plus we need to see young Jackson gel on this team because he had the potential to become a glue guy on both ends. We need to see if MarJon has made the leap to legitimate rotation guy. We added a chucker in Beasley, need to see if he helps our spacing. We need to see if Jae is back to being himself.

Quickley is an easy and immediate yes for me because he would make us the best defense in the league. The other guys rumored to hold our interest make us better on paper and paper doesn't win championships.

Jake Fischer wrote June 20 “Utah has made guard Collin Sexton available in trade talks around the league, sources said.”

However…is there any credible report connecting him to the Bucks?

Stands to reason we’d kick the tires. But if Ainge would require a first (or if we just wouldn’t want to part with Pat or Bobby+ for him) that could have been it.

We really don’t need Horst dealing with Danny Ainge. Is Rich Cho still a GM somewhere? Or Isaiah Thomas?

I can't think of two players less likely to interest Ainge than Pat and Grayson.

He might like Bobby, but I’m suddenly in the camp (in the last 5 minutes because I hadn’t thought about it before) where I’m thinking Bobby might be the new Scott Williams.

Now I'm interested in who the new Anthony Mason is gonna be.

I still have a Sexton talk hangover from the last 3-week binge.

Bobby probably was attractive to Utah considering they valued John Collins.

If there were any real talks that could have been before that trade July 7.

Bucks trading Bobby instead of the 2029 first also maintains our ability to package those picks…However Portis could hold more value to the right team (Bucks included).

Paul talks about Livingston being his favorite deal he did this summer at around the 6 minute mark, he also touches on Marjon and his fit with the Bucks a year ago.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Didn't Goran sign somewhere? NBA.com and ESPN still have him listed as a Buck....
