Along those lines, maybe Christian Wood can be considered a field goal attempt eater. He'll take and make a bunch of shots, but his impact is pretty much neutral at best. Why would you want this - I'm not quite sure.

You want it because LeBron and AD miss a bunch of games in the regular season. Also he can play as a second big next to AD when LeBron's out.

Seems like a good comparison is later stage Michael Beasley?

At this point I think everyone knows he's not. I was fooled by his numbers as recently as this past winter, but he's likely a net negative.

He's better than Wenyan Gabriel and will actually be able to hit open shots. I think it should've happened earlier, he'll fit in very well I think, and will be able to spell AD at times with some competent scoring. Defense may suffer but maybe this will be the year he gets it together.

This is going to be JR Smith 2.0

If he can follow Lebrons lead, and get his **** together, he can save his career. If he cant be salvagable next to Lebron/AD he's done.

Nice signing...as a Heat fan I was hoping he'd end up in Miami. He's got game just needs discipline, hopefully he fits in well there and has a big year.

Bad Signing

If you guys think he’s a impact player I got news for you. He’s one of the worst defensive players in the league and he puts up empty stats. He’s only going to take a spot from a guy who can actually make a difference for the Lakers like someone who can guard Jokic like Mcgee or Dwight. He’s also going take minutes away from the guys already on the team who could make greater impact than him.

Decent pick-up with a potential to be a great signing at bargain price. LeBron will keep him in line like he did with other players with attitude problem like Kyrie, Rondo, Howard, DLo, JR etc. If not, Lakers can just cut him out of the roster during the season like they did with Westbrook.

Nice pick up. Should he not work out like many are predicting..it’s only a vet min.

This guy reminds me of Drummond with the Pistons. Numbers with no impact on winning.

I don't understand. Nothing about the stats or eye test says this guy is a 2.7m per year player. He must be a locker room nightmare or a pain to coach... but I've also never really heard anything too negative about him off the court.

He reminds me of Christian Wood with the Pistons, Mavs, 76ers, Bucks, Rockets, Hornets and Pelicans.

Should be able to occupy space while AD is out. Won’t get stops but will Chuck enough to get the scoreboard ticking over.

Probably a win win contract for both sides - if Lebron can get Wood’s head on straight it’s a bargain contract, and Wood can start his redemption arc.

Maybe all Wood needs is some good on court leadership to put him the right direction - he hasn’t had much of that for years.

He is known as the worst defensive big in the league.

As others have stated, he won't play 2 minutes in the PO's and his role is regular season minute eater. He has no value to younger teams since he's already late 20's and none to contenders since he can't play in the PO's.
