Bertans Schrodered that last shot, you could say.

If Bertans made that 3 at the end I would have had a spontaneous 5 minute orgasm

Not even happy right now. Still speechless.

Kinda impressive the rest of the guys got it done with a double agent running the show. Needless to say that this team doesn't have a chance to beat the American team.

Massive respect to team Latvia, what a run, they had to go up against the hardest team in the tournament, and were 1 3pt of the semi finals.

I don't like Bertans shot. If you want to push it like that, rather try to go to the hole for 2 and push the game to OT.

Ah.. so close. That last shot was definitely a shot that Bertans can make and probably the best shot we could get with what time was left.

p.s. Dennis Schroder, lol

Might actually be the record for most shot attempts in a fiba world cup game. Easily the worst performance of all time. Props to Germany for still getting a win.

Schröder was a Bertans three away from a statue in Riga.

People are saying that, but the defense was all over everyone and he gave them time to get a chance at a putback. I really think he made the right decision to just shoot. Plus he'd been so hot and he almost made it.

FIBA rules says not allowed to call timeout on a live ball correct? They should allow it at least in the last 2 minutes methinks. Won’t affect much of the pace and will add more excitment i think.

I'd really love to see the Nuggets sign him. There's no way he's less valuable than Reggie Jackson. I could totally see him coming in to run bench units in the playoffs.

I forgot to add "...if they keep playing like that."

They absolutely have a chance if Schröder doesn't look like the worst basketball player who ever touched a basketball.

I didn't mind it tbh. Defense didn't expect it and it certainly wouldn't have been his craziest make of the day. Also got them the chance to tie it on a putback.

If Canada wins later, Serbia and Germany go to the Olympics.

Germany squeaking by despite Schröder doing his best to sabotage them.

I doubt they have much of a chance against the US though, especially with a rest disadvantage after such hard-fought game. Schröder for sure needs to play a lot better (and focus more on distributing/defending) for them to have any chance. Germany does have a few physical bigs to get on the boards, though. So maybe that can be their advantage.

Edit: Schröder's line for anyone who didn't see it: 4/26 (0/8 from 3) for 9 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals, 4 assists, 4 turnovers, 4 fouls. -20 in his 30 minutes on the floor. And Germany somehow still won.
