Being good on paper doesn't guarantee anything. (we should know), but the LAL have a championship level roster IMO.

Exactly, they should not be underrated.

**** that pisses me off.

It's just AD, Lebron, Reaves and Gabe Vincent plus a bunch of guys that were cast off by their teams for nothing or almost nothing, often by really bad teams. They'll go as far as AD's health allows them. The same old story since 2020.

Harden is a dick but I gotta laugh at how he handles these trade requests at this point

Dang, if LeBron and Davis can stay healthy through most of the year, the Lakers are right there with other contenders. PHO/LAL games will be fun to watch.

I think the lakers could *maybe* make WCF again, but I don't really consider them a legit contender when their 2 best players are a guy who will be 39 during the playoffs and a guy who's made of glass.

Lakers are similar to that of the 1990-1992 Celtics.

Don't be surprised if Lebron does not have a good season.

It's a fact nobody beats Father Time and Lebron is NOT the exception.

Best case scenario is Lakers get to the 2nd round.

Yeah, I think he'll have a solid season TBH. In order to win you do need a player who is at an MVP level. I don't think he'll be there, nor do I think AD will. Lakers will be a good team but last year was the final shot for LeBron. Fortunately for them they can literally get any free agent they want so it won't be an issue replacing LeBron in a couple years.

Stop the presses! Manimal eyes return to NBA!

https://hoopshype.com/lists/kenneth-faried-im-ready-im-focused-im-locked-in/

33 years old, looks like he's still got some game left. I always liked his energy. If the team wants one more front court vet and Blake is not signing, I'd definitely kick the tires on this retread.

Faried sucked when people thought he was good, no thanks lol.

I still can’t believe Garuba is sitting there, it’s almost as if teams don’t really value him.

Looks like OKC, San Antonio, Memphis and LAC are a bunch of the teams that are going to have to move people due to roster size.

Edit: random and inaccurate list of guys that might get let go -

SA - Khem Birch, Reggie Bullock, Cedi Osman
Okc - discussed a bunch already
Memphis - Isaiah Todd (seems like a scrub but idk), someone else (I'd be vaguely interested in Kenny Lofton Jr.)
LAC - maybe Amir Coffee (didn't he just have legal issues?), Hyland or one of their old PFs like Covington or Morris.

My guess is they'd target a big who can shoot or pass since it seems like Blake is likely retiring, Birch is a fine minutes eater but he's too similar for Kornet to sign imo. I would've been interested in Javale if they were cutting Kornet but it's likely they won't, and he's going to Sacramento anyway

Also I don't think any of the Clippers guys you mention gets cut

No way in hell Memphis waives Lofton. He had 42 points and 14 rebs in a game as a rookie.

And yes, Coffey is certainly in legal trouble:

Sleeper pick to get a 2-way contract and maybe even the 15th roster spot..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gordon Hayward bought out.

That's true. Especially now that they resigned PJ Washington.

If they keep Hayward, it's a logjam at the 3 and 4 spots with Hayward, Bridges, Washington and Brandon Miller. All of those guys are gonna want minutes. You gotta give minutes to the guy you just picked 2nd in the draft.

Plus you've got McGowens who can play some at the 3 - Cody Martin too.

I'm sure they're trying to trade Hayward to avoid having to buy him out, but I doubt anyone wants to trade for that contract.

I think a lot of people don't realize this, but the Celtics can't sign buyout guys this year with the new CBA. Most contenders can't

I think we can as long as we stay under the second apron (even after signing buyout guy).

If you pay the veterans' minimum it doesn't put you over, even if it does. Only part of the dollars count. That's so veteran free agents are not priced out of the market.
