US Cs who are even in conversation for "good" Cs are Ayton, Turner, Allen and Adebayo.

Banchero shouldn't play Cs. Period. Just because he can put some numbers against D level competition doesn't mean he can do that against well organized teams. 40 min means your mistakes & mental errors should be minimal. There is no time to learn on fly, nor there is enough empty possessions to throw away to get repetition from.

I thought Ayton was supposed to play for Bahama team

If you get dominated by Thies, Valenciunas and Vučević on same tournament, it just means you don't have roster nor players to defend bigs, bigs that are very, very, very important for such competition where guards can get shut down because they don't have much space to drive nor bigs need to leave paint to meet them there.

They are that talented, they just didn’t have a center.

Maybe because USA has no funcional bigs?
Who they could have called that would make difference? Jarret Allen and Ayton? That's pretty much it. Adebayo would have same size issues .

It was Canada's problem against Serbia as well, they had to play Olynyk and Powell despite fact one is usless and other is mediocre, but that's all they got as any hope to contain Milutinov. Made no difference. MIlutinov 10 rebounds. Canada's team 22 rebounds

Ayton play for Bahamas.
I don't know, I'm sure there will be bigs wanting to play in the Olympics for USA.

Wow we probably really have something special with Franz

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

This I agree with.

Wendell is one of our most productive players but the reason why he got an 8 figure contract instead of 9 is because I'm not sure if he is top 15 at his position.

I don't think the world cup was the best place to train on the job how to be a center. Also he's the youngest guy on the team so I don't think perfection was possible, especially if you're playing him out of position. Paolo got his numbers against NBA talent but he did so in a role that was comfortable for him. Paolo is not a screen and roll, rim running big man. That's a Jarret Allen or a Clint capella, paolo was cast in a role he wasn't fit for. Then again I felt the whole roster and play style for team USA was problematic

its not just that Kerr was playing PFs at the C position, its also the fact that he played SF/SGs at PF at the same time. He rarely played two bigmen together.

Wendell wouldve been a very nice addition to the team, but im glad he didnt play. Need him to be healthy for the season.

Ayton is from the Bahamas. Not an option for Team USA to the best of my knowledge.

Ayton is from the Bahamas. Not an option for Team USA to the best of my knowledge.

Seven years later, in 2023, Ayton joined the Bahamas national team for the 2024 Olympics Pre-Qualifying Tournament.

Paolo will have his time to lead the USA to a gold medal, but this was a great learning experience for him. I loved seeing him step out of his comfort zone and take on a role he isnt used to. This will only make him better in the long run.

Now its time for Franz to get the gold.

Time to.get excited about Franz this season.

He's shooting much better from deep. Got rid of the dip in his motion and so getting them off faster.

If he could be more demanding, it'd be even better.

Out of curiosity did Paolo congratulate Franz? I hope he’s in the stands to watch the finals and support Franz and Mo.

Brook Lopez.

Looney would have been perfect for this team instead of Portis. Hart goes to the bench, and you have a starting 5 where you have a power forward who can score and a C who can defend and rebound.
