Looney would play because he can pass & switch, plus Kerr is already his coach.

I still don't get why Kessler sat on the bench in training clothes, watching how Germany made point after point from offensive rebounds and putbacks. Sure, maybe they would have played Kessler off the court because every German big can shoot. But why not try it for a minute or two if the alternative clearly isn't working.

These guys think iso game is the highest form of basketball because you can't touch perimeter players in the NBA and they can use the threat of contact, even initiated by them, to go wherever they want whenever they want with the ball.
But it's a team sport, and in a league that actually allows some physicality, team ball remains superior and will remain superior.
Plus we still get Canada v US in the 3rd place game which will be fun

Kevon would have likely done a better job than JJJ this tournament. He's already familiar with Kerr's system and is a much much better rebounder. He's also a really good screener.

Germans were full-grown pros who knew what their game was and how they could take advantage of different spots, and they made a ton of tough shots. Don't need to make this about 'scrubs' or Adam Silver or whatever.

American team was more talented for sure, but Germans had its effective ways to create shots and they didn't need 8 super-talented guys who were great at that. Their guys simply hit the shots they got better than the US did, especially in that 3rd quarter when they pulled ahead. Single elimination games are like that.

Paolo seems like a one way player that cant do anything unless the ball is in his hands. Kessler at the 5 with JJJ at his natural PF spot could have made a difference but hindsight is easy so I don't blame Kerr too much

International ball is different man. Team chemistry matters and it really showed. Germans and Serbs have been playing together for many years.
