1. Your favourite player of all-time. I think
Chris Paul might be number 1, but it's close between 3 players. I like watching him dissect defenses.
2. Favourite player that retired before you started watching NBA. I started in the 90s.
Bill Russell, who might be my favorite overall. I like the idea of a player dominating using his IQ essentially, plus it's interesting reading about the racism he had to endure.
3. Favourite player that retired, but you watched him play.
Paul Pierce. He's why I became a Celtic fan (I'm not from Boston). Media was quite different pre 08 and Pierce was a guy that most people were indifferent too. I loved how versatile he was and how he didn't rely on athleticism as much. He kind of felt like my own secret until he got a ring then he became overrated and all over the media.
4. Favourite currently active player.
Nikola Jokic. Loved watching him since day 1, it's rather obvious why.
5. Your favourite retired roleplayer (never was selected to all-nba team)
Frank Ramsey. He seems bad ass, like a Manu Ginobili of his day except this guy was an even more pure bench player.
6. Your favourite current roleplayer (never was selected to all-nba team)
Marcus Smart. Might like him even more than Joker. Watched him play in college for two years and wanted the Celtics to draft him at #6, which is exactly what happened. Ended up being a better defensive player than advertised which is saying much. For a player with limitations he is not nearly as one dimensional as people make him out to be, he does a lot of things.
7. Your favourite player per position. Can't think of a favorite, but
shooting guard is probably my least favorite, they just seem like they're not that impactful but are glorified none the less.
Only 4 Celtic selections, not bad
