Re: 2023 Free Agency
Buddy just texted me and said all of the Hornets unfollowed Kai but Rozier. I can't confirm right now or if that's just a rumor. Lol gah.

Very concerned for Kai's well-being. He is completely off his Rocker right now.

I don't see anything wrong with it.. however we don't need him and I'd rather have a vet even if they suck just to have some older people in the locker room

Kai is out of his mind
Was he always like this? Like, what are we doing?
This team desperately needs some strong vets in the locker room. Most immature basketball team I've ever seen in my life. This teammate winning s*** until we get some more serious minded people in our Core group of players.

This seems like an insane take to me. What exactly is the problem with that video again? He has too much energy?
He looks like he just worked out and was drinking coconut water. Do not understand the issue.
i guess i havent seen him talking enough for comparison, but he seemed overly, erratically hyperactive. i could see why the original poster mentioned him needing a drug test

Re: 2023 Free Agency
It's a continued pattern of young erratic immature players on a team with a leadership vacuum. It's not a one off about Kai. Kai is just one of many.yosemiteben wrote:fatlever wrote:?t=c41tC0ytYMet-7hGj_pHhA&s=19

As for him specifically, I don't know if this is always been his personality or something's changed. But looking at all of his recent Twitter and Instagram posts, at best he's a completely delusional, hyperactive, immature kid.
You bring someone like that into the organization, and he looks around for some role models and guidance on the team, who's he got to look up to? Bouk, lamelo, Bridges?
A few years ago we pivoted to creating an extremely young team, but I'm not sure that we necessarily put the structure in place in terms of leadership guidance to really get the best out of these young players.
Our team culture is nonexistent.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
Fine to flamethrow the team culture, I just think there is an unreasonable amount of interpretation and judging going on about Kai from that very brief video.
Maybe it's just me, but I honestly don't see any reason to judge him as a "a completely delusional, hyperactive, immature kid" from his social media posts.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
If it was just that one video, I would certainly agree with you. But if you look back at his Twitter feed and his Instagram and have been following his stories for the past two weeks it's been Non-Stop posts like this. Again, I don't know what his personality has always been like, but it feels very manic.
Bigger picture, It's sometimes a little shocking just to realize how immature and young some of these guys are. then put into a situation with millions of dollars, moved away from their home and support structures and then we do the worst thing possible by surrounding them with just a complete lack of leadership and role models.
When I was younger I would look at NBA players professional athletes, like these are grown ass men who've got their s*** together. Now I'm 50 and I look back and I realize these are just a bunch of dumbass immature kids. Like I was a complete f****** moron when I was 18. There is no way I would have been able to handle being a rich immature player sent to a city to live with a bunch of other Rich amateur players my same age when I was 18. I could barely function in a supportive dorm environment, and still make it to class on time.
Anyway, I'm going way off on the tangent here. It really isn't about kai. If he is going through something, I certainly hope the team is reached out to him and giving him the support he needs. My comment is more just about how incredibly young our team is this year. And the few older veterans on our team are not exactly leadership material, no matter how much Terry thinks he is. The front office acknowledged that we definitely need to bring in some veteran leadership to help stabilize this young core, and they did absolutely none of that this summer. So I am very worried about next season. Young teams just typically don't win consistently at this level.

If Devonte was still here he could be driving them all around drunk.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
Cam Payne is a FA after Spurs cut him, tbh I don't really think he is any more of a pg than Rozier. Suns gave him away, Spurs cut him.
His main skill is scoring, but not a great facilitator or defender.

i said that on the last page, just so Lamar comes back for a bit.
apart from the FIBA comp, he hasn't been playing against much competition though
