All players get injured: a lot. I am amazed by how fast F-Wagner recovers from injury. This tournament included.

Did I say he was going to leave? I am not being defeatist or weak but we should be able talk about it and discuss it. It’s the reality of the NBA that has been built small markets it will always be a threat. The stakes are high and we need to support him.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Franz definitely showed out but it will be interesting to see how Paolo responds. He was clearly not happy with his role but he is the young guy. I think he uses this as even more fuel.

that goes without saying but man....he JUST finished his ROOKIE season...to be discussing this now is a bit soon don't you think? the argument itself has merit but we got a lot of time

Franz, according to EPM, which I continue to believe is the best advanced player ranking metric, was the #39 player in the NFL last year. At one point, I think he reached as high as #29, but don't quote me.
Either way, Franz being a top 20 player in the NBA at some point is nothing less than likely.

He'll never be as good as fellow Michigan alumni, Brady.jezzerinho wrote:Residual-Heat wrote:

Wow we got a double-sport superstar in Franz? NFL and NBA? He is the gift that keeps on giving

After this year, unless Cade and Mobley shows a higher leap than Franz expected improvement, Franz is probably the #1pick in a redraft for their class.

Imagine how good he would have been if h stuck with basketball?
Jokes aside, i'm still 120% confident even if redraft is today, Franz wouldn't go first nor probably second.
Teams draft for upside,Jalen Green has most raw talent and potential and would still go first.
NBA teams prefer handlers at 1# and that would still put Cade over him.
It's similar debate to who would you draft in redraft in 2019. Proven good Garland or Zion. Garland is better, proven, played in playoffs, not injury prone, yet if you line up 30 GMs , 30 out of 30 would still draft Zion.
NBA GMs don't draft just for players, they draft for things like marketing, media opinion, twitter opinion, upside, what player might become 5-8 years from now etc.
We should be happy that we got right player at 8, given that our own 5th pick looks like bench player. And there isn't much reason to care about "redraft" nor narratives. We all know if OKC makes playoffs, and we don't, same type of comments will be posted about Giddey's game. Ditto to Houston or any other team with high lottery pick in 2021.
And lastly, i don't agree with that outlook, but vast majority of media still thinks Scottie Barnes is next big thing.
