Disagree. Giannis won't consider signing his extension until next summer/fall. See how the current team can do under a new coach this season, then make the big move next summer, if needed. Don't want to be in a position of needing to make a big move next summer and being all out of ammo.

If we get bounced early again and Giannis harbors resentment for the FO for not maximizing another year of his prime, then we may not get that opportunity.

I dont want to play out a "prove it" season next year and risk getting nothing. This is the make or break year, imo.

Giannis is acting more like a guy demanding a trade at season’s end than someone who’d give us the offseason to maximize those 3 firsts we can trade after the draft.

Lebron caused plenty of drama in the press when he wanted a team to trade future assets to win now.

That seems like the clearest rationale to me why Giannis would be doing this publicly now.

The argument that he should sit tight for a season until we can trade more picks for a better player doesn’t seem to have persuaded him…just like it didn’t persuade Lebron last year.

Seeding won't matter. if we get bounced early again teams around the league are going to move mountains to prepare to sell Giannis on a situation that may be better,

This roster another year older and with another failure in their rearview will look less appeaing.

Apropos of nothing, who's the worst player you'd trade Jrue for?

do we know that the Bucks told Giannis that that was the plan? i think you are making assumptions based on what is commonly kicked around on real gm. im personally a big proponent of waiting until we have the largest asset pile to move for a truly great player, but that doesn't mean the Bucks see it that way.

to me, the simplest rationale is that it's very obvious to everyone that this core has an expiration date and we dont yet know how the Bucks will handle that transition. Giannis wants to make sure that it's handled in a way that keeps us a contender (if that's possible) before he wants to re-sign. that's my read.

Hakeem better be moving to Milwaukee, to live with Giannis, along with those picks they're offering.

3 way deals with the Rockets?

The Houston Rockets are working to trade guard Kevin Porter Jr. in the wake of his charges of felony assault and strangulation due to an alleged attack on his girlfriend, league sources tell The Athletic.

Those sources say the Rockets have contacted multiple teams offering draft compensation as incentive to receive Porter, who has the 2023-24 season slated for $15.9 million in Year 1 of a four-year, $82.5 million deal, with three non-guaranteed years. In deal scenarios using Porter’s contract, the Rockets would be using his salary to target a player under contract who can play immediately and help the team, league sources said.

[Teams] would also have to weigh whether they’re receiving enough draft picks for essentially an expiring contract who they would likely waive immediately upon trade.

Give them something useful for KPJ and picks and flip those picks +28 swap, 29 pick, and what you can get for Jrue to Portland for Dame. Two years of Dame/Midds/Giannis and hope that shows Giannis enough to stick around after.

Why would a 6th man move holiday to the 2? I wouldn’t give up a first for Sexton, he’s a terrible defender that would have to be hidden on defense. We need someone that can stop dribble penetration.

Jevon Carter was a very good defender, good at stopping dribble penetration and good at defending the PnR. He was also great off the ball at catch and shoot 3s (made 142 threes last year, Sexton attempted 122). We didnt play him in the playoffs because he is too small, not switchable. Sexton is the exact same size but he can’t stop dribble penetration, is a terrible PnR defender, and is an iso dribble penetration scorer that had his best most efficient season playing all but 15 games off the bench.

This is a fun one.

Jalen green comes to mind.

Plenty of interesting options with how you approach the question. A one for one swap in a vacuum, or the primary piece coming back with additional assets.

Sticking with the one for one idea though, but with players I think are better than green: jalen Williams, mr. hip extension velocity, maxey
