Where is the GIannis wants Jrue moved stuff coming from? The family comments?

I'm in Troy's camp. Yeah, probably for **** and giggles but maybe to try to pick up a few things. But what is Hakeem going to teach him who played in a game that is 3 generations in the future that specialty coaches who work with Giannis every day and study his film aren't going to point out. Hakeem might give him some old man wisdom or a pep talk but realistically I don't think a few practices make a difference. I don't think Hakeem has officially been apart of anything basketball related since the amazing show he put on in 2015.

Jalen green comes to mind.

Plenty of interesting options with how you approach the question. A one for one swap in a vacuum, or the primary piece coming back with additional assets.

Sticking with the one for one idea though, but with players I think are better than green: jalen Williams, mr. hip extension velocity, maxey

I think you trade jrue for anyone other than dame and giannis will be pissed. He loves jrue n midds and personalky i think he rold horst he wanted this core back.If bucks are competitive amd get to the finals which i think they absolutely can giannis will stay.JMO

I think he may love Jrue, The Man, but I'm tired of pretending I don't think a lot of this Giannis stuff is about Jrue. Dots I'm connecting:

-- First round loss to Miami. Jrue gets absolutely cooked by Jimmy. Viral clips of him being crossed over and taken to the rim by Duncan Robinson. Shoots 10-30 in the last two games of the series. Looks slow, heavy.
-- Giannis comes out and says he wanted to guard Jimmy but coach wanted Jrue on him.
-- Bud is fired.
-- Brad Beal rumors. Leak comes out that Khris would absolutely not be involved.
-- AG hired. Giannis signs off on the hiring. Khris is involved in the process. No mention of 21.
-- Khris re-signed.
-- Old interview with Jrue goes viral where he talks about retiring at the end of his current contract, spending more time with family.
-- Giannis gives an interview with the Times, talks about everybody being on the same page, focused on winning rings to the detriment of their personal/family lives.
-- Giannis posts a bunch of pictures in the Bucks' practice facility, some with Khris (where's Jrue?), gives another interview where he talks about the importance of being fully dedicated to winning.

Probably some stuff I'm forgetting. It's all circumstantial, of course. I just think Giannis wants Jrue moved, probably for Dame, but probably for anybody who'd 1) not cause us to take a step back, and 2) live in the gym with him.

Add to your list:

Jrue friend Evan Turner calls out Giannis: "Ain't nobody going to Milwaukee to work out with you & your brother"

we will have more than enough oppurtunity to handle whatever he wants us to handle in real time over the next couple years.

what i dont like is the public comments NOW when we have a championship caliber team NOW and quite frankly the failures of this team over the last couple years have not all been just on his teammates

giannis... if you get asked this **** anymore say youre determined to win a championship this year and youre working on elements of your game that you need to work on the same way youd expect your teeamates to answer the same questions

10 for 23 in a 2 point OT elimination loss should not be waved away. That **** was sickening to watch.

What I take from all of this is that Giannis REALLY feels the need to call himself a winner.

It’s just so unnecessary. Whether he’s actually considering it or it’s all just a way to put pressure on the org to make certain moves, this can be done privately. Tell Horst/ownership what he expects clearly and then let things play out. Doing this **** publicly does nothing but cause a huge distraction for the team and makes the whole situation all about him, which even if that’s true, that’s not the vibe you want to set going into the season.

I’m not sure what I actually expect, but he better be a two-way destroyer this season with noticeably improved FT%. If he’s gonna start this stuff he better back it up with a career-best type of season.

exactly. he did not do everything in his power to win. and it wasnt just at the line either. he coasts defensively now in a way ive never seen from him before. perhaps its his health problems but the roving monster free safety action from the championship year and before was gone gone gone.

the guy is supposed to be a two way animal and from his drtg last year the team couldnt tell whether he was on the floor or not. the playoffs exposed his new defensive "style" even further

I love Giannis. I don't love the direction he's trending.

If he wants to leave I respect it and understand. Just don't Dame your way out.

Sorry if this has been discussed already about Giannis and I know I’m late to the party but I just have a personal thought here…. Does anyone else think these comments by Giannis have anything to do with Dame Lillard? Considering we know how highly regarded Dame is to Giannis, is the fact Milwaukee isn’t involved in trade talks what’s really pissing him off? I know he said the family stuff and there’s speculation he’s talking about Holiday, but if you take a second to believe that’s true, it kind of correlates to being involved in trading for Lillard. Holiday, Beauchamp and a 1st is probably a package that could get Dame at this point. Is the teams commitment to Holiday giving Giannis vibes the franchise isn’t willing to prioritize winning by not trading him for Lillard?

He’s talking about winning championships, better situations and making sacrifices, sounds a lot to me that he’s vying for a Lillard trade. Maybe I’m way off but what does anyone else think about that?

Again, sorry if this was brought up prior. With football back in full motion I’ve cooled off on the NBA for the time being. Just started seeing Giannis in the media for these weird comments he’s making and figured I’d see what the board was thinking/had to say..

Piggybacking on some other discussions, what would a Holiday trade look like?

Khris played through his wrist injury practically all 21-22 season. They told him it was going to be fine. Tore it, "the acl of wrists". Left hand.

JJ wondered how long it took for Khris to feel normal in his knee after the injury vs. Chicago. But he never got to fully feel that out, saying his motion was pretty much all there. But after the season was over, it was time to just rest it & then he found out the wrist had a tear.

You guys don't think that if the organization had even the slightest notion that Giannis wanted Jrue moved that A) it would have happened already, and B) there wouldn't have been multiple reports of him being shopped? I think the front office has come a long ways in regards to not leaking stuff, but let's not be delusional. This stuff always makes its way to the rumor mill.

Unless we can really see a huge impact (Sexton might be on that level), I'm holding onto that 29 1st. Realistically, and correct me if im wrong, in 2 years, Lopez and Jrue will be off the books and our future firsts will be available again. That could make for a pretty quick rebuild with a max slot and some assets. That is the road to a 'rebuild' whilst staying competitive and keeping Giannis.

TyTy said he's worked out with Jrue. So Holiday is here too. And seen the Lopez Bros., Giannis & Khris.

Feels like every season there is always a big, or at least kind of a big trade right before training camp. I've had a feeling for awhile that this season that trade is going to be Jrue. Have no clue for who, I just can't see Jrue remaining a Milwaukee Buck for much longer.

Or if Jrue isn't traded before camp, he will almost certainly be traded by the trade deadline.

I would bet a pretty large sum of money that Jrue Holiday won't be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks by the time the Bucks take the floor for game 1 of the 2024 NBA playoffs.

Am I reading this right that if all the Bucks (Giannis, Khris, Bobby, and Pat) decline their options, which seems likely, the only current Bucks under contract could be Chris, Andre, AJ, and Marjon?

It's possible Giannis has tried to handle this internally and doesn't feel like it's getting him anywhere so he made a cryptic statement publically.

The issue with holding onto the 1st and waiting for Jrue/Brook to expire/more assets to become usable is you may have already lost Giannis by then. Some of you have a lot more faith in his loyalty than I do.
