Not sure why it's even controversial to point out that they aren't the world champions, they are literally the NBA champions.
If it's universally known to be the best league, then the moniker of NBA champion says it all anyway so no need to change the wording and say world champion when that isn't what it is.
I mean, it's even called the NATIONAL Basketball Association. At least change it to the International Basketball Association if you want your champions to be known as the "World Champions."
It's literally in the name, and it's weird that NBA players are upset about someone pointing out the obvious. Just goes to show how narcissistic and delusional some of these guys are tbh.

It is absolutely fair to call them the World Champs, but also weird people are triggered by that. You really need to see the Nuggets beat a bunch of European teams after the NBA Finals just to call themselves that? It isn't like that is etched in stone. It is just something the NBA Champs are called.
