Hahaha. Hurting from the boston series? Really?
The dude turned to shaq against the celtics. Particularly against softie Daniel Theis. Bam got injured in the finals by trying to bang against Dwight. If we had a banger against the heat during the bubble and last season, we would have had a better chance. Instead, we had guys like butler posting up our so called bigs. and having easy perimeter jumpers, and layups from unatheletic role players. Not saying Dwight is the solution, but he would have helped us. and he was a steal for the lakers during the bubble with his unguaranteed cheap contract.
Theis had the best defensive rating of any Boston player during that Miami series (excluding Langford who played like 5 minutes total) holding the Heat at 109.1 points per 100 possessions when he was on the floor, far below both their regular season (111.9) and playoff mark (112.7). The Heat had a 122.5 offensive rating when Theis was off the floor but sure the Celtics lost because he was "soft" not because he didn't have a decent back up (Kanter lol, rookie Grant Williams and a Timelord that hadn't figured out where to stand on a NBA court yet). Maybe your take would more success on an alternative history forum.
