I hope he gets a chance to machinate some fouls on Embiid.

Maybe something like this
Brogdon to Houston
T. Jones and J. Tate to Boston
KPJ and draft compensation to Washington
Boston gets a true PG with less health concerns and a veteran wing defender. They could release Blanton and save the 15th spot for a big.
I don't think I can come up with a good reason for Houston to do this. They have a veteran lead guard they just signed for big money, a top 3 pick guard they are developing, a guard defender they signed for big money, and a 4th overall pick guard they want to develop. If you were to ask me what teams are least likely to want to trade for Brogdon, Boston would be 1st then Houston. You have them giving up Tate and draft picks for Brogdon.
This trade isn't good for Washington either but it's kind of indefensible from Houston's perspective.

And from our perspective, it's not horrible. But if we're just looking at our postseason rotation, Tate is likely not in it. Which means you're essentially just flipping Brogdon for Tyus Jones - and I'm not convinced that Tyus coming off the bench for us instead of Brogdon gets us closer to Banner 18. It's a lateral move at best.

Yea it's hard to know and I can see both sides. Brogdon is probably the better player but straight up I'd rather have Jones. I think he provides more of what they need and he has a higher likelihood of staying on the court.

Hal14 wrote:Not gonna lie, with Queta signed I don't think we necessarily *need* the 15th roster spot to be a big.
KP, Rob, Al.
Kornet as the 4th big and Queta as the 5th big.
I think that's fine. I mean, if we grab another big like Griffin, Biyombo or Gabriel for that last spot, I won't lose any sleep. But I think those 5 guys is enough at center.
Queta was a guy who had recently been waived and then we scooped him up. Perhaps that is what Brad will do for the 15th roster spot too. Perhaps he will wait and see who gets waived between now and camp (or during camp) and then sign 1 of those guys.

For this last roster spot, I feel like we could use another vet. Right now we only have 1 guy over the age of 30 on the team - championship teams usually have more than that. We have too much youth and inexperience. Rudy has been there, done that. He's seen it all. Will bring a level of maturity, experience, professionalism and leadership.
He would mostly just be like a Udonis Haslem type of guy at the end of the bench, but i think he could still be a reg season minutes eater, if we're in a pinch.
Plus, a guy like Rudy is a professional and has been around long enough to be realistic and know that he's not gonna get a lot of mins on a team like this. So he'll be ok with a reduced role - whereas someone like Lamar Stevens or some of these other free agents who are still out there - they're gonna want to go where they can get more playing time.

oh heaven help me I'm going to miss posting this when he's finally out of the league for good -- but I trust I've got a few more times left:
I love a lot of the internet. But I just might love this the most. From "DeFEnSE" to "NOT THIS GUY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU **** ****" just gets me every time. It just sounds like this fan completely disintegrates in the stands.

The concern I have comes from something Bobby at CLNS said, basically wondering out loud that if Brogdon needs surgery on the elbow and didn't get it right after the finals, then maybe he really feels unappreciated and will get the surgery at the start of the season, keeping his summer open, and doing his rehab from October - December on the company's dime.
It's a red flag if true, but can't say I really would blame him. The team basically indicated that he is expendable, so why go the extra mile?
Edit: And if Brogdon is out for the first two months, it wouldn't be the worst thing. In fact, may it is a good chance to see what Pritchard can bring in a regular role, and give Banton (and JD/Scrubb as 2-Way) some minutes as well to see what they can bring. Then the decision can be made at the deadline.

Yea, I don't think it would surprise anyone if Malcolm were out to start the year. No word yet but we'll see.
