Raptors dont have any picks to offer the Trail Blazers. Our young assets are only Barnes, Trent, Precious, and Dick; highly doubt we or the Blazers can make a deal work.

Barnes, OPJ (waive), Boucher,Thad (waive), Flynn (waive) for Dame works. Barnes if the perfect young frontcourt piece for the Blazers, Dames is the backcourt star we need to balance the roster, and clear up the Siakam, Barnes log jam

I'm surprised how many people on this board can't see that. I do think the front office is waiting to see how Barnes does this year and may trade Siakam instead.

What are you giving up in value for Herro?
I could see it as part of a Siakam trade.
Would take 3 or 4 teams to complete, so pretty unrealistic, but if you could send Deandre Hunter elsewhere and get back Herro plus AJ, Bufkin, and draft capital, I’d be all over that.
Also, I don’t feel the comparison of Herro and GTJr based off 3pt shooting percentages is fair. Herro has a good handle and can shoot from anywhere plus create for others. That isn’t a diss of Gary either. I’m a big fan of his, but Herro is a big step up in terms of offensive ability.
Giant 5 team deals are rare for obvious reasons, but I think the structure is there since the Harden and Lillard deals seem like they need to happen.
Clippers - Harden, Achiuwa
Heat - Lillard
Portland - Heat Picks, 1 Clipper first, Duncan Robinson, Marcus Morris, Covington
Philly - Siakam, 2 Raptor 2nd rounders
Raptors - Herro, Terrence Mann
Clippers get a Harden-Powell-George-Kawhi-Zubac starting lineup with a Plumlee, Achiuwa, Westbrook bench. Only costs them Mann, filler and a first
Heat get Lillard for the Herro, Robinson's bad contract and picks package that seems inevitable
Blazers get the Heat package and an extra first from the Clippers to sweeten things
Philly gets their all-star for Harden which seems like the best they can do, and Siakam and Nurse have worked together. They can trade Tucker and the Raptors 2nd down the line for whatever guard is available for the deadline from a tanking team to add to Maxey and Melton, but the frontline of Tobias, Reed, Siakam and Embiid could bully teams.
Raptors get a balanced rotation of Herro-Mann-Schroeder-Trent at guard, Barnes and OG playing big minutes at forward with Dick and McDaniels getting the rest and Poeltl and Koloko at the 5. Maybe Trent gets dealt instead of extended for a forward with Dick becoming the backup 2 guard.
We trade Pascal and 2 SRP for Herro and Mann?

I see it, I just don't like it. Giving up Scottie for 2 good years of Lillard isn't worth it imo.

He just had his best year ever, and just turned 33. To say that year 3 and 4 of his contract won't be "good" is a bit of a stretch I think.

He'll be close to 36 during playoffs of year three. He won't be the player he was last season. Still good, but not 58 million good.

He's 33 and injury prone. Youre not guaranteed to get even 1 playoffs out of him. 2 years ago, Harden looked like an absolute superstar playing beside Kyrie/KD. Gets a hammy injury and he's not even good enough to secure contract now. Father time is undefeated, and small guards like Lillard rarely age well

Garbage take.
Lillard is not injury prone.
Lillard never missed any appreciable time until he decided to finally get his procedure.
The games he missed these past two years were largely for tanking purposes.

This.
It's like we don't even agree on the nature of reality on this board.

i mean reality is that Lillard is a small guard in a league full of talented guards and he's never been a top level difference maker in the top 5 range (which we would need to actually win with this roster). And if we're not trying to win a title, im not sure why we're making this kind of play.

Go back and look at pgs at Lillards age. He blew Isiah Thomas and Iverson out of the water.
He will decline but he’s a pro and committed.

I know Harden was a superstar 2 years ago and it took a small hammy injury to end his superstar reign. Thats the way it goes. It doesnt matter how nice you are, 33 is 33, and very few guys stay elite through their mid 30's. Maybe Lillard is one of those exceptions, but you dont get very far betting big on exceptions to the rule. A team like Miami may be able to justify it as they might think they are legit 1 piece away. I dont know who else can make that calculus work

Pat Riley is never shy about taking big swings in the short term. Lowry as an example. I thinks he figures he can always get out of a bad deal, taking another big swing.
That’s why Miami is the perfect destination. They will offer up what they have and eventually Portland will take it.

Portland will end up taking what Riley decides and like it. Not much choice other than waiting it out. Then Allen can market the team as young and exciting when they eventually sell soon.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Not really if another team risks it. Lillard will show and play for any team

Would be great if she would seek to Phil Nike.

Portlands problem is the position Lillard plays as well as timing. League is chock full of talented guards and few teams are genuinely looking for upgrades there. Fewer still are both looking for upgrades and willing to pay a big price for an aging one. I got Miami as literally the only team willing to go for it now with possibly 1 or 2 teams getting into the mix closer to the deadline. I just cant imagine Portland going into the season without moving Lillard tho, regardless of what they say. Ill believe it when i see it

time to make a move masai. it's 3 very good years of siakam/lillard/barnes/shroder or og/barnes/grady and hope for the best.
