Simple. Because fans take Giannis' perceived flirtation with the idea of leaving as a slight and/or an irritation. And vocalizing their displeasure makes them feel better. Waiting to see if this flirtation is real or not to cast judgement requires patience that few possess.

Recognizing it's a ploy to create an advantage for the team is next-level deduction. Failure to achieve this condition of human consciousness is in no way a knock on any individual. Only the rarest of rare is able to unlock this level of enlightenment.

Lot of Bucks and Giannis discussion early on in Zach Lowe's pod with Ramona Shelburne, some parts that caught my attention:

- Bucks picks are now dramatically more valuable than before, including the 2029 first our 2030 first that we can trade which will be “very very valuable.” Bobby, Pat and Allen all are good too (Grayson's expiring more valuable in 2nd apron era as well).

- Ramona mentions Bucks need help in backcourt. Zach says he thinks the team might just want to maximize talent, and that’s why the Bucks “kicked the tires on John Collins”, which might be the first I’ve heard of that.

- Deandre Hunter “if Hawks want to get off that contract." Others we've talked about more here include Bojan, DFS and Norm Powell. Zach said although he'd not be worth the package but the kind of legit PG we are missing, Tyus Jones.

- Zach thinks the Bucks are going to be very active to try and make a better and deeper run this year.

- Ramona wonders if the Bucks trade some of the core. Internally they'll have clarity on Jrue's extension and intentions. Trade Khris when you can? Call Houston about Lopez? She thinks Bucks would find value for any of them.

- But trade a core piece where? Houston has a million picks. There are teams that might be looking to level up, mentions Orlando and OKC. Bucks get younger and get assets if they are willing to break up core. Dangerous play but creative. There’s a market for all those guys.

Is this satire? lol

Everybody's talking about the Bucks' best player on a Bucks forum. The comments warrant a discussion.

The older I get, the less I care about sports drama. I have absolutely no need to parse every sentence an athlete says to figure out if I should be mad, worried, or thrilled. I'll just see who's on the team and root for them to win games.

Damn, we're really turning into the 2010 Cavs, aren't we? What's our 2010 Antawn Jamison panic trade look like? Jrue and the 2029 1st for Zac Lavine?

Honestly I feel like this team's true chances are going to come down to TyTy Washington emerging as a big min option at guard that lets us shift Jrue to the 2 in lineups with our best guys. Obviously I'd love for a big trade for Dame or something to materialize but I don't see it. It sounds absolutely crazy to say something like that about Washington Jr who hasn't been great and is super young, but the pieces are there and hopefully with a much better team and a clearly defined role he could take a Tyrese Maxey kind of leap. I don't expect TyTy to become an absolutely elite catch and shoot guy out of nowhere, but he could the PnR operator we need.

Also, I think it's foolish to continue trying Jrue as a primary ballhandler if we're going to have him just go man mode vs the hardest defensive matchup all postseason. He isn't skilled enough offensively nor well conditioned enough physically for that work load and as we've seen his offensive production is trash in the playoffs. And when it's good, it's just because he's hitting pull up jumpers mostly which feels more like variance than anything sustainable.

Thinking about multi-team trades with the Pelicans.

Hadn’t realized Brandon Ingram’s only played 61 games, then 55 games, then 45 games the last 3 years. Do we think New Orleans really wants to bank on both his and Zion’s health?

Jrue would be a perfect compliment to CJ McCollum for a few years at least if he were to return as part of a bigger deal. Ingram’s age lines up with Giannis but idk if I see him landing in Milwaukee in the scenario.

Meanwhile few days ago reports came out they’re waiting until next offseason to talk extension, coming on the heels of a horrific showing on Team USA. New Orleans has Trey Murphy on the wing as a potential replacement already too.

I’ll choose to believe it’s all a scheme. Make me feel better about the situation.

That said, we’ve had five glorious years and a title, so I don’t have much to complain about. Just grateful.

Well, I'll tell you this: I returned the Zoom Freaks I bought for my son because Giannis said he doesn't know what his future holds and also that he's Nigerian. Can't have my boy walking around in cool kicks if each step he takes will stab me through the heart.

This is why trading Jrue makes zero sense to me. Trade him for a SF and then who are we starting at guard? Jrue is our only starting caliber guard. The rest of our roster is a collection of back ups in Allen, Beasley, and AJ Green, and then unproven guys in Dre and MarJon. Are we starting Dre at PG and elevating Wiggintonson to be the back up? Signing Cam Pain? Bleh
