Saints Leadup
On to our next game.
Home opener.
Saints play Carolina on MNF, so we won't know the line until that game is over.
Hopefully we see Bakh, Jones, Jenkins, and Watson back.
Go Pack.

Cushion coverage on Olave and Thomas should work well.

Poto sportsbook has opened it Packers -2. That will be adjusted based on who is and isn't playing and any injuries the Saints may have Monday night.
Jamal Williams probably shreds us.

Who plays is obviously a big deal but this game feels more winnable than the Atlanta one to me. New Orleans has a better defense but they don't have any significant advantages on us like Atlanta did with their run game. Now if Bahktiari Jenkins Jones & Watson all miss the game we might not score a point but I'm fairly confident Watson & Bahktiari will play
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Does Poto only let people place tickets in person or do they let you use an app? Never knew Poto offered NFL items

Think this matchup is better for us on paper (assuming some of our guys get healthy) but still pretty pessimistic at the thought of a Joe Barry defense going up against an actual above-average QB in Carr plus legit receiving weapons. Saints don't have a great O-line so hopefully our pass rushers can wreak havoc.

Only in person. You can get the current odds from the website of the company they use but you have to place the bets at the casino. Temporary sportsbook for now, large new sportsbook under construction to open next year sometime.

Bakh will play - the game is on grass.

Re: Saints Leadup
I will go on record and say this. After watching Love last season vs. Philly I was highly encouraged and IN on Love.
Through two weeks, my expectations have been lowered. I think MLFs scheming receivers open has made him look better than he actually is. Just in watching, there's just something that seems a bit unnatural with him and the accuracy issues will eventually catch up to him. A lot of these TDs seem like outliers.
Looked ALOT better in the Bears contest but I think they might just be THAT bad. I think I had us at 8-9 or 9-8 going into this season, and I'd move us a peg lower at current.

Curious to see what that do on the O-line with Jenkins on the shelf for a bit. Desperately hoping to avoid anymore of the Royce Newman experience.

I actually thought he for three quarters he was playing better against the Falcons than he did against the Bears. He had that one throw that should've been a pick for Terrell but otherwise I thought he was executing the basic offense on a higher level than in Week 1. The 4th quarter it all fell apart obviously.
I'm curious what you mean about the "TD's seem like outliers"? I haven't felt that way at all, if anything they've all been well within scheme. It's not like he's been running around freelancing and making insane throws on broken plays.
I will say I was hoping more for at the end of the game because that was a specific scenario where scheme kind goes out the window, they know what you're going to do, and you just have to lead a drive by making plays. To me those are the spots where you want to know whether or not you have a QB and an offense that can execute when the pressure is on. Still think it's too soon to pass any sweeping judgments. I'm eager to see him get a few more games under his belt, get Jones and Watson back and see what happens.

The first and second Doubs TDs were actual great plays by Love, but outside of that? You've got a totally busted YAC TD by Jones against the Bears, the "passing TD" read handoff to Reed, the Wicks TD which was a great throw but a total whiff by the Atlanta secondary, and then hitting a wide open Reed in the corner.
I guess 4 out of the 6 have been plays made by others or scheming which makes me think the true outcome of 6 TDs likely inflated. Obviously it's early, but I think that's my tempered expectations. Well within the scheme, some of these TDs, it just feels more game manager than solution moving forward.
I think some of his misses are ALSO concerning and we're in line for regression. When he misses, the ball just feels like it's skipping low, and eventually there's going to be a DB on the backside to catch it. They're not misses without danger is probably the best way to explain it from an eye test standpoint, where when the play isn't made, it's because the receiver was the only one with a chance to grab that ball.

Re: Saints Leadup
I think it'd be fair to say that glancing at the stats (118 passer rating, 6 TD's and zero INT's) might overrate his performance a tad so far, but you'd have to be incredibly nit-picky to find fault in Love's first two games given his top two WR weapons have essentially been 2nd and 5th round rookies.
Yeah, MLF's scheme makes things easier for him and that's exactly what was annoying about Rodgers last season. He didn't play within the scheme and take the easy throws when they were there. Love's doing that while also making some pretty high level throws on the move and off play-action. The accuracy stuff might never improve but he's got plenty of time to clean that up.

Re: Saints Leadup
There was a reason why I thought those picking 12-13 wins this year were waaay overestimating how good the youngest team in the league would be in Year 1. 2008 Rodgers took a team that was OT away from a SB appearance and went 6-10, a 93.8 rating, 28 TDs/13 picks, with Driver and Jennings as his top 2 WRs. Obviously the defense had a lot to do with the record, but Rodgers had some ugly performances in there.
There are some things about Love which I think are quite evident. He seems to generally make the right reads and follows the scheme well (something I wish Rodgers did more often, tbh). His arm is an absolute cannon. His footwork has improved considerably. I also love his willingness to use his legs to get first downs, something that largely and understandably disappeared from Aaron's game as he got older.
Yeah, Love missed a couple throws and nearly gave up a pick yesterday. That's par for the course, though. There isn't a QB in football who doesn't make a mistake now and then. Rodgers has skewed our notion of normal QB play in part because his mistakes are most often reflected in him holding onto the ball for too long instead of throwing picks/missing guys.
Of course, Love's performance on that final drive left much to be desired by comparison to a guy like Mahomes/Rodgers. And that's another place where Rodgers's greatness skews our expectations, because if MVP-Level Aaron was back there, I'm almost certain we end up in Field Goal range.
But it is Love's third-ever start on the road, missing his top receiver, top RB, and top LT and LG. The only judgment I can make about Love after that final drive is that he's not an All-Pro level QB at this point. But I knew that already.
As the season goes on, we'll learn more about Love's ability to make some of those remarkable throws and improvisations that separate All-Pro QBs from the average dudes out there.

I don't intend this as a backhanded compliment but my take on Love though two weeks is I don't think he sucks. I'm not sure if he'll be great but I haven't seen the bad QB red flags at all.
Now not sucking could eventually bite them if he's more Jimmy G than Aaron Rodgers.
But to me so far so good, I'm excited to see the next 15 games.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Re: Saints Leadup
For what it's worth, my issue with WR1 in Watson being out is that I think he's a big play guy. He's not a target hog, he's not a refined route runner, and I don't think he's ever going to be a guy that just soaks up volume on a ball club. Saying WR1 when referring to him just feels painted with a broad brush. By end of season, I think it's Reed or Doubs that ultimately fall into that role. Was a little shocked to see Doubs get so few targets with an increase in snap participation.
No disagreement on Jones, he's our entire offense at this point. Everything else is just sprinkled in.
As it stands, I think we have the 3rd best QB in the North.

This does not sound overly encouraging. "Does not think his season's over" I didn't think that was something we had to worry about.
