i'm also thinking.. it's more likely than not Giannis leaves. who are we really going to get to replace Khris and Jrue? There's no way we can construct a core that good again and frankly it wasn't even that great of a core to begin with, Giannis just went off and Khris found a new, but temporary, peak. But he can easily go somewhere else, pair with a legit top 10 talent, and crush people. Why wouldn't he just do that?

So give me Dame. Let's make two runs at getting one more ring, and then we all become Thunder fans.

Since we are all dreaming about Dame... Let's dream a bit more.. That's assuming Lillard is still available at Dec 14..

Milwaukee in Lillard
Milwaukee out Allen, Bobby, Brook, 2029 FRP + 2028/2030 swaps, 2024 POR SRP

Houston in Lopez
Houston out KPJ, Tate (or Landale), BRK 2024 FRP

Oklahoma in Portis
Oklahoma out Oladipo, PHI 2025 FRP

Portland in Allen, Oladipo, KPJ, Tate, BRK 2024 FRP, PHI 2025 FRP, MIL 2029 FRP + 2028/2030 swaps, their 2024 SRP back
Portland out Lillard

Lillard...........Jackson
Holiday..........Beasley........Green
Connaughton...Beauchamp...Thanasis
Middleton.......Crowder.......Livingston
Giannis..........RoLo

Dame would be 35 when Giannis contact expires and he'll be making more than the GDP of small country.

A dame trade is a try to win now and figure out the future in the future type move. Which I'm certainly not opposed.

Just my 2 cents but i think that trade someone posted before with jrue n pirtis going to new york i can see thst exact scenerio happening with portland getting 3 players from new york n 2 or 3 1st round picks n dame coming to milwaukee

The chances the Bucks are the mystery team are low and the chances there even IS a mystery team is even lower.

However the Bucks do have an easy path to trading for Dame and have a CLEAR motivation to do so after the Giannis comments.

Best two options are 3 teamers with the Magic or the Hornets.

Jrue and Grayson salary is just 146k more then what Dame makes.

Jrue to Hornets

Dame to Bucks

Hayword/Grayson + 2029 Bucks 1st 2025 Hornets 1st 2027 Hornets first

Pretty clean and easy trade everyone wins. BONUES : Hornets have new owners looking to make a splash.

2nd trade

Jrue to Magic

Dame to Bucks

Issac/Gary Harris/Grayson + 2029 Bucks 1st 2025 Magic 1st 2027 Magic 1st

Just as easy, maybe a little tougher if Magic think Issac is still good. BONUS: Hammond SPECIAL, he just cant help but bail his protege out!

Grayson/Jrue/2029 first is a better package then Herro/2027/2029 first which is the best package the Heat can offer. Jrue is a clear 2-3 1st rounder asset while Herro is barely worth one.

BONUS BONUS: This also magically opens a roster spot for Cam Payne

Not against Dame even after his lame ass summer but only if we're keeping Jrue in the process. Swapping the two is pretty much a lateral move.

That’s too hard to tell, they’re wildly different players. I felt like our inability to score outside of Gianni’s and some Midds in the playoffs was our bigger issue than defense.

Whew, that Hornets trade actually makes some sense I guess. Not sure that’s enough for Portland. Especially since Hayward is a salary dump.

Dame’s gravity on the perimeter and midrange would open up our offense incredibly. I think he’d thrive next to Giannis and the rest of our lineup as well. And he wouldn’t have to play with Jimmy **** Butler

its actually perfect. Of course there would be negotiating over all the picks, Bucks have 2024 Blazers 2nd that theyll want and you could probably talk some 2nds or another 1st out of the Hornets. I think thats the best path to an actual dame trade

Building a Dame package

Step 1: That's the easy part. 2029 FRP + 2028/2030 swaps is obvious.

Step 2: You can't trade 2024 FRP, but you can promise it. Send 2024 POR SRP and 2027 MIL SRP and work in good faith that you will happily take them back on draft night for that 2024 FRP. #31 + future 2nd(s) for a 20ish pick happen almost every year. The league won't notice.

Step 3: At this point you have 2 FRPs + 2 swaps + Allen (9 mil expiring). Bobby holds value to bring another 1st + another expiring for Portland.

Step 4: Leave Jrue out of this. Talk Portland into waiting until December to get them a 4th FRP from Brook.

- Dame for Allen, Bobby, Lopez is identical money and opens two spots for the buyout market. Bucks can even avoid the 2nd apron.

- Blazers end up with 4 FRPs + 2 swaps + expirings and call it a day. MarJon is also there for them if they like him as a sweetener.

I don't know if this is good enough for Portland. But it must be better than the Miami route if Herro can't bring not even one FRP on that contract.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
