At the end of the day it's gonna come down to overall team 3-point shooting and having a 4th quarter closer this season, yeah?

Nobody talking about the fact that Achiuwa looks like the same player. Still dribbles the ball out in front of him. Still doesn’t look to pass when he gets the ball. Still doesn’t box out. Still short arms his floaters and layups. Isn’t seeing the game any better than before.

I think we need to trade him while he still has some value. He ain’t gonna get any better.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

I told you, team is gonna be better than people think.

Kind of weird how entire raptors team showed up together, but siakam went separately with random players.

Also gradey was just kind of there lmao. He wasn't really involved at all. But scottie was just too dominant I guess.
I too was hoping for some Gradey highlights, anyone who watched the full game care to comment on Gradey?

Tbh considering his strength is shooting I'd like to see him at least get some shots up. But again it looked like he barely touched the ball. I guess it was just a product of the short games, the fact Barnes seemed to be working on ****, and being able to exploit the easy mismatch on defense.

Also they also skip through a lot of the missed baskets, so maybe he did take some shots and just missed them all, lmao.

I've been waiting patiently for this Scottie-Rico footage.

It's time.

Gradey never looks like he belongs on the court in these clips lol. He's going to look much better in a structured offence rather than a freestyle environment like a pick up game.

He still looks scrawny as hell though. Hopefully he can get more solid during his rookie contract.

Gradey was essentially the 5th option on the team behind Scottie and Gary taking all the shots and Jak doing clean up duties on the board. IMO Gradey should have been on the Raptors B team, but then again all their guards would have also taken all the shots away. Fun clip to watch, but its just a pick up game.

Agreed, but Meh. It's pretty clear Scottie looks different. But IMO his most notable change in his game would be his scores mentality, or building on that mentality. Too many times last year he was passive or looking to pass to Fred/Pascal, even during summer runs. A more aggressive Scottie is what we all need.

He mostly just floated around and finished a layup or 2. But TBH Scottie was mostly passing to Gary and vise versa. It very much looked like they were working on their chemistry, which looked good.

I feel like every single game and season comes down to who shoots 3s better.

Gradey looked very solid in summer league which is also unstructured but less so than these gym runs. Im not worried about gradey

Scottie looks like a very large person.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I believe each of the Raptors on that A team, at least from the early games were working on something specific. Gradey passed up threes to drive and kick and was trying to be more determined on defence. Though the highlights were mostly makes, it seems they wanted Scottie to be that scorer's mentality. And Yak was doing Yak things, setting picks and cleaning up the offensive glass - I did like it that Yak got to get the final bucket a couple of times and he made both free throws to validate the wins. Setting picks in pick-up is weird though, but to me it did seem that Raptors did want to put a bit of structure in the games.

Was Siakam at this Scottie scrimmage? Seems odd most of team there and he isn't when he essentially lives at Rico runs in summer.

I'm hoping that's what that was because Flynn and Scottie just reprising Fred and Pascal is not the offense I want from Darko. I mean, if we're expecting Scottie to do point guard things this season, there was very little of that in this Rico run.

I also think we're going to take a couple of months to unlearn how we played last season. We'll need to let Darko get in their ear more about the team concept.

If he played on this team last season, no doubt in my mind he would have ended up like Yuta. You can be a great shooter but if your team doesn't pass and can't find you legit shots in your comfort zone, you're not going to show your abilities.

Dick will show out if the team truly plays off each other unlike last season. Swing the ball needs to be a huge concept on offense.
