Nice. Will be even better if he breaks out of those leading questions by Will and just speaks his full opinion lol.

No reason why he can't become a CJ McCollum type of player, but we'll see. He needs to improve his ball handling, passing game, court awareness and raise his efficiency a tad...get his fg% to the mid-40s and his 3 fg% to the high 30s consistently.

I think we need to trade him while he still has some value. He ain’t gonna get any better.

If he can hit the 3 consistently, that and his defense alone make him worth it as a rotation player that you can probably have on a good contract long term. I don't think expectations for him should be starter material; first big off the bench with position versatility on defense is a perfectly good outcome I think.

imo he has Norm potential. Needs to find consistency with his 3, and then attack closeouts and aggressive D. Norm smixed up the timing on his attacks to stop getting demolished at the rim, and then grinded/NOAH'd the release point on his catch and shoot 3s.

in the rico runs, gary plays so smooth and just lets the game come to him. But then in actual regular season games he can force his shot at times - taking contested shots he has no business taking.

I think that had alot to do with Nurse’s so called “system”. Good looks were hard to come by.

I disagree with Scottie looking the same. Compare his Rico runs last year, he was soft going up, athletically he was very "bambi" like. He seemed like he didn't know how to use his length to his advantage.
This year in the Rico runs, he's been getting by defenders, getting low on his drives. He looks much stronger, and his drives have looked very slithery to me. Ball handling looks alot more fluid and tight.
His mindset also seems to be far more aggressive. Last year in the Rico runs he was mostly shooting open 3's and/or passing up the ball. I have high expectations this season. 22/8/6/1/1.

As long as Barnes avoids the catastrophic type of months that he had last year, it should be a good year from him.
