Re: Game 3: Saints at Packers - Noon - Fox
Y'all crazy. This was the perfect game script. It appears our coaches realized AJ Dillon should just be hanging with the alumni. The youth faced immense adversity and overcame it. Love had the wild 2pt down conversion. Coaches again had some brilliant trick plays that were executed poorly. Musgrave had his best showing of the year, and we saw love hit his flow. This could be a huge win for the momentum of this season, and I'm beyond hyped to see how it translates to Thursday night, hopefully with Aaron Jones back in our lives.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Chicago could get both Wlliams and MHJ and they'll just turn them both into bustsVooDoo7 wrote:TroyD92 wrote:VooDoo7 wrote:MIN gonna tank for Caleb now. No bueno.
Gotta beat Chicago for him
CHI so dumb they'd probably pass on him and draft an OL to help Fields.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Funny, I was telling someone earlier today before the game that MLF seems like the type of coach who is a better play caller when you're down in the 4th quarter then if you're up in the 4th. Last 2 games that seems to be the case. Also helps when you have Love making great throws and great decisions which he did in the 4th.

As the Love debate resumes this week I don't know how anyone who watched the game wouldn't be optimistic. Plenty to work on of course but plenty of talent and poise already.

I think MLF has been largely outstanding this year so far. Seems like we’re making adjustments, scheming guys open etc.
Is he maybe a better O-coordinator than a head coach? Maybe but idk. Im happy w him so far.

What a win. Nothing was going right. Saints defense is really good of course but there were missed opportunities. Penalties were daggers.
JLove's poise is huge. Kid is definitely mentally tough.
MLF made some good adjustments with spacing out the Saints defense.
Defense played well for most of the game. Gary deserves the game ball IMO. He was cooking.
And shout out to the young tackles. They quietly played well.

Great win. Great fourth quarter. The attitude, too--my favorite was the TD to Doubs on the same play they had just run unsuccessfully, going at the (former Packer) CB twice.
That said, so many penalties. I think we had holding penalties on two separate punt returns--one landed well out of bounds, the other was a return of 0 yards. So many false-start penalties. We were trying to the old Raiders or something, so many penalties.

There were plenty of dropped passes, inaccurate throws, and borderline pass interference non calls. Sometimes all 3 on the same play.Treebeard wrote:What percentage of the incompletes passes were drops vs errant throws?
Lots to work on. The team definitely showed its youngness over and over and will be frustrating often.
If Love can clean some stuff up, the future ceiling is so high though.
only a fan, only an opinion

What he said. I still remain quite happy love generally makes great reads and decisions, the rest should continue to improve.

Exactly, he seems to get it and know what he's doing, which is what has stood out to me most since the first quarter of the first game. That said, whereas he usually missed throws in a way that erred on the side of being uncatchable for anyone the previous two games, in this game a few of his bad throws erred in the wrong direction and were too close to being interceptable for comfort. He's gotta err on the side of overthrowing deep balls to a receiver who's triple-teamed and err on the side of throwing it to the sideline on an out with a defender plastered on a receiver's back.
Also, add plenty of "pass interference non-calls that were NOT borderline" to that list of what tanked his passer rating today.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

As a man who wanted to draft either Love or Hurts that draft I was always optimistic.
My only question was can Love do it when he is behind or is he just a game manager?
This was a huge answer to that question. Today was basically the opposite of last week....pretty funny.
Lafleur called some great plays, even the ones that didn't work.

The problem with that is they could end up with the top 2 picks in a stacked draft.
But yeah...they're horrible

Fair point. Honestly probably a better move to cut bait at this point and hope you get Caleb Williams and a real coach.
