NinjaBro wrote:This would be such a massive offseason for me if we get Dame. The 2 Raptor that I hated the most FVV and Nurse were shipped out, making this team infinitely more watchable. Re-signing Poeltl (one of my fav all time raptor) a C that we were missing all season and then upgrading our guard depth in Shroeder. Nailing our pick with the guy that I wanted. And now if we get Dame it's just cherry on top. Magical offseason.

Exactly how I felt getting rid of Demar and Casey in 2018

Was way too quiet today on the trade front - expecting a trade announcement any moment now. Tomorrow is my guess.

The actual clip is even funnier. He does the usual "toronto bad" shtick. Then he salivates at Lillard playing with the Lakers and spends half the clip talking about that. NBA media really and I mean really sucks at marketing teams/players outsourcing of Cali/New York/Miami

If this isn't done and it's now in the media this much, this deal probably isn't happening.

Why is it ok to to exit out of the 2nd round if you rebuilt vs if you traded assets to get there? The outcome is the same, so the method of getting there shouldn't have any influence. And I really don't think most rebuttals can drive your argument any further:

1. If you rebuild, you can ascend and then use your assets to further augment the team to be more than a 2nd round exit --> who's to say we wouldn't be in the exact position as we are now after a rebuild? I'd say coming out of a rebuild with an all-nba caliber player and the ROY 2 years removed is an amazing outcome
2. It's fine to exit out in the 2nd round if you rebuilt to get there because if your team caps out there, you have all your assets and it'll be easier to start again --> sure, which is why most are in favor of this because the price seems fair and not destructive to future flexibility
3. There is a longer pathway with a rebuild as opposed to trading for a 33 year old --> is there? most contention windows outside dynasties are 2-4 years; if you can get it now, why wait to get in 5 years down the line?

Price has to be right, for sure. But it sounds like we're not trading Scottie, we may not trade Gradey, and we may not have to give up more than a pick. Does that really hamper the future of the team?

I think it's wishful thinking to believe we won't have to give up Dick or 1st(s), or both.

You're more than likely right. But to me, it's either/or; either picks or Dick. OG + Dick + Picks starts to get a little uncomfortable for me given the limited contention window so fingers crossed.

Yep agreed, but I'd rather give up a pick than Dick. I mean if we could get Dame for OG & one of Trent or Achiuwa then I'm down, especially with their impending free agency... However, losing both OG and Trent would hurt our already weak 3pt shooting, even with the inclusion of Dame.

Hey fellas

Thanks for your messages. I've read them all and appreciate the support and trust as always. It's why I do what I do.

Now I know y'all have been asking: "B, what's the scoop? What are you hearing?"

Well. A lot. I can't say much but expect a massive update within 12 hours. Is it a sure thing? Nope. Nothing is in this crazy world. But I feel good about this and my track record, to be frank, speaks for itself.

I'll just leave with this: It's Dame Time.

Honestly the 3 way just makes too much sense from all the rumours that have been floated. Just comes down to where OG goes and if it's to Portland, what does Phoenix get in addition to Nurkic. Raptors can't afford to trade all 3 of OG/Trent/Dick while trying to put out a winning product.

From Toronto’s perspective, Pascal for Dame makes the most sense, because it puts Scottie in a better position surrounding him with a number of shooters, and moving out one large salary for another.

But if not Pascal, then OG and GTJ being the pieces moved makes sense, as players with long term salary need to be moved, and the team has potential fill in options for both: Precious for OG, and Dick for GTJ.

If the team is paying Dame supermax money, and Pascal at least max money, Yak $20M, Precious RFA this upcoming offseason and Barnes the following summer, they cannot afford to let a player on a rookie deal (Dick) go in that trade. Especially one the fills a glaring need on the team.

Ayton, OG and Thad to Portland
Nurkic and GTJ to Suns
Dame to Raps

And probably a pick from the Raps to the Blazers.

Trade the only all star and all nba player, easily the best player right now so Dame can play with younger guys? I don’t understand how that makes the most sense. Pairing him with another all nba player makes the most sense.

Too much overlap in Pascal and Barnes games. And a front court of Yak, Pascal and Scottie would be horrible for spacing. If this was the teams front court, Pascal’s 3pt shooting will need to improve.

lets say we got dame for OG, Dick, flynn, Thad, Boucher. whats the follow up move yall think? we need a bench. our only serviceable players i guess would be schroder, opj, mcdaniels, and precious. opj is injury prone

No offense but I read your post history during the 2023 trade deadline and your scoops proved incorrect.

I think recent NBA history shows us how fluid and fast moving everything else. One phone call and a couple of words change everything. Let’s just wait and see.
