The league/Vegas anticipate his bluff will be called and he will increase his offer to Portland, which Portland is holding out for. The Raptors appear to have an interest in the market for Dame. This is a huge distinction. They want to take advantage of Miami fixing the market, and capitalize on Portland's frustration of that or Miami's own stubbornness.
Miami doesn't have anything else to give.

Masai actually wants Dame, which blows my mind if I'm being honest.

Again, it’s not known if Masai REALLY wants Lillard or just driving up the cost for Miami, who is a rival for Toronto and a rival executive to Masai at the end of day.

And it’s not known Miami really wants Lillard that bad either.

I think he really wants Lillard but for the correct price. He's not going to overpay and destroy the team in the process. If you can get Dame for role players and keep your blue chip prospect, why not try?

He's ok VS 6ft PG's, but the more you slot him over...the more he pays defensively. It's his wingspan.

Agreed! I think he doesn’t want to give up Dick/Koloko. oG, Gary and precious would still be a great package. See who blinks first.

I don’t think it’s that. Portland just wants to send him to Miami and are waiting and used us as leverage

Grange doesn't even have sources in the raptors team, there's no way he has sources in Blazers or Heat lol. He's just going based off of Vegas odds lol.

Training camp is basically upon us and the guy is still insisting on Miami only. I'm sure it's just nothing though.....

He's definitely on the table, or the reports would be that he's off the table. Masai may not have had to offer him yet because of Miami's lowball.

I would think anyone would want Lillard for the right low price lol

it’s Grange so…this gotta be the confirmation that TOR got Dame, right??

Yup, the longer this goes, the higher chance it is Miami.

Unless Miami is pulling out because they can't afford to up their offer.

If they start trading all of the pieces they have on the current roster, they are going to run into the same problem as the Suns. Big 3 stars, and no depth.

Herro is all they need for secondary scoring anyways, with Jimmy being the man.

They were probably just interested in Dame if they could get him for their spare parts (Herro & Lowry) plus some picks way out into the future. And Miami picks may never be that valuable because with their location, they can always trade older players with expiring contracts for the next star who demands out.

We need Phoenix to keep putting pressure to get involved. When their name comes up you know it’s real and getting done

Masai got a big table, but most of the stuff on it is bolted down to it pretty good.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Since Riley has become team President, the highest MIA has picked is 10th. The likelihood those future MIA picks are high, given their location and overall success as a franchise isn't high. When a team knows they don't own a pick, their incentive to field even a mediocre team to avoid a high pick is extremely high.

The MIA offer isn't good unless you really like Herro.

Lillard

Phoenix in:
OG
Nurkic

Portland in:

Blazers
Ayton
Grant
Simons
Sharpe
Scoot

Dick

Raptors
Poeltl
Siakam
Barnes
GTJ
Lillard

Schroeder

Suns
Nurkic
Durant
OG
Booker
Beal

I like it for all sides and Suns better win a championship with that roster lol. But Blazers may be pushing for OG which is a huge change in the trade.

The Heat don't have anyone since they're not trading Martin and the Blazers aren't interested in Hero. I doubt a three-way is going to net the Blazers a player, it's more likely to be an expiring and a pick.

OG > Tyler but OG is not worth as much to the Blazers. PDX is going to try to soft tank for at least these next 2 years with Scoot to pair him up without another top lotto pick. OG makes that harder if anything. OG is also FA so they would have to pay up to keep him there. This wouldn't be too bad but they already have Grant on 5/150. or what if OG leaves anyways?

Miami late picks are valuable because Jimmy/Dame will be 37-38 by then. Potential of lotto picks when Scoot is 23 years old and coming into his own is what you want. Gives you a longer timeframe to build teams cause of cheap contract.
I strongly disagree. The Blazers aren't gonna go with Herro just because he helps them tank better. The distant future Miami picks aren't some great advantage either because Miami is one of the most attractive FA destinations for stars whereas Toronto is probably the least desirable.

Granted you would need some level of assurance from Anunoby that he re-signs but he makes a lot more sense on the roster than Herro. The Blazers aren't looking for guards.

How funny would it be where Portland ends up deciding to go back and compete and we end up trading Siakam and OG to Portland for Scoot, Simons and Grant. That would be one turn of events lol…

You honestly can’t trust any local reporters to have any sources or inside knowledge. It’s kind of sad to be honest. Grange and Lewenberg will wait for American real sources to drop news. They will then tweet saying ‘my sources say this is correct’ or something like that.

Does Phoenix have any picks left to send? Them getting OG for Ayton seems a little lopsided.

OG >> Ayton. Suns are making out like bandits.

I think it makes sense to send OG to a 4th team where the Raps or Blazers recoup some assets.

Maybe something like OG to the Nets for DFS + filler + picks and the Suns get DFS.

Return to Toronto Raptors
