lmao. Masai really getting the "tease" rep

Sounds like Masai doesn't want to be used as leverage, which could be a good and a bad thing depending on the situation.

The only player in this list who has consistently been able to lift his teams is Jimmy Butler. The Raptors would just fall in amongst these teams and probably slot lower since Butler, Embiid, maybe Tatum all are better players overall than either Lillard or Siakam.

If this trade doesn't happen, oh well at least we have youth to look forward to.

The Butler love has just gone way to far lmao

Butler in the post-season lifts his game to the same level that guys like Embiid/Taum especially play all year long.

It's very easy to Google the roster Butler has played with over the last four years vs the other players and how good they ended up being when the season ended.

Butler played with Embiid and Simmons in their primes and made the 2nd round. He has failures just like any other player.

Saying Butler lifts his team up and suggesting someone like Tatum does not is crazy to me

This. Masai isn't about to wait until the last minute and mess up Darko's 1st camp.

Miami getting Dame for a poo-poo platter is not good for the NBA.

What's the point in having CBA's and long-term deals when guys can whine their way out to their preferred destination once they get paid.

It's a miracle we even won in 2019 tbh.

They're back to attacking Masai's character. We're back in the lead for Dame.

Twitter post was deleted. Bill Simmons did a podcast about the Lillard/Toronto rumors and said some juicy-ish things.

With all the OG trade rumors I found this Bill Simmons info on OG interesting. Is OG a source of bad chemistry? He is one hard to read guy, but not sure why Simmons speculates here.

Simmons and his host both like Toronto trading for Lillard. They doubt Scottie as a future efficient scorer.

Says OG is an awesome 3rd guy, but should only be a $20m guy and Toronto is going to have to pay $40m to keep him which is the worst.

Greatest quote alert, referring to Gradey being the centre-piece of the trade for Lillard:

They gonna try to shove Gradey Dick down their throats.

I think Simmons is out of touch with the league these days. I bet if someone challenged him in a 1 on 1 conversation, he would be exposed quickly.
Nah. His takes and predictions arent necessarily always accurate(nba history is his true forte)but he's "in". He calls things before they happen a lot of times I've noticed. Not as reports but just things he'll say nonchalantly.

Where's that ranking of # of trades by team over past number of years? More time to evaluate.

The glass is half full. The Dame rumors at least killed a couple weeks before camp. Plus, media day interviews will be hilarious as Toronto beat reporters will be asking variations of "so how close was the Lillard deal from happening?"
It's either that or "so Dame, how do you like Toronto so far? Have you gotten a chance to visit all the amenities from our world class city?"

Always leave it up to our beat reporters to ask all the revelant questions

It was said on a podcast a day or two ago. It is just repackaged as something new to fill on gaps in the news cycle for these ‘news’ sites.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Got it. Either way seems fake. If Masai was always offering trades our players names would be named in rumours to many teams, constantly.

IMO, Portland is leaking this info to get Miami and others to up their offers. Given Miami has more to offer and I think Portland want to do Dame a solid, I think he ends up in Miami eventually.

Wolves 2017-2018 - first time since 2004 that team made the playoffs was with Jimmy Butler

Philly - 2018-2019 - best player Embiid has ever played with - team ended up losing on a last second shot in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the eventual Champions and probably gave them the most trouble along the way because of Butler

Miami - Has made the Eastern Conference finals twice and the finals twice with the best players he had played with being Bam and Tyler Herro/Kyle Lowry.

He's no slouch lol. He has consistently shown he can raise teams. He may not be a tier 1 superstar but something about the way he plays has a huge impact on even mediocre rosters.

This seems to be a POR problem not a Riley or Masai problem.

POR told Lillard they'd improve the team at the draft and did nothing. They told Lillard they'd improve the team during the offseason and did nothing. They've dragged this entire process to almost October with no decision in sight.

Embiid: 0 ECF and 0 final appearances. A good enough supporting cast to be as high as a #1 seed in the East.

Tatum: 4 ECF and 1 final appearance. Has had an all-NBA player and DPOY next to him.

Butler: 3 ECFs and 2 final appearances. Surrounded by G Leaguers, mid/low draft picks, and the corpses of Kyle Lowry and Victor Oladipo.

IMO Dame caused this problem. Had a chance to become an UFA but kept signing max extensions on a middling club, then demands out. I'll keep my mouth shut if we get him but wont sympathize with him as long as he plays for another team.
