Raps needed to acquire Lillard if they wanted any shot recruiting Giannis. Thats officially over, its time to rebuild.

Jrue is 33 and not a star player he doesn't move the needle at all and now that Milwaukee has the East on lock
for the next few years it's pointless to trade assets for Jrue.

Raps really need to fully embrace rebuilding at this point

Actually, Rue is not as bad as that, he plays way better D than Lillard for one. I'd be looking at a deal for him.

makes them favorites in the east the next 2-3 years which is why they do this deal.

those 28/29/30 picks could be pretty good for portland as dame will be done and giannis may not be there.

There will be some quick pivots to "Dame isn't really a #1 anyway". Within the hour we see 1-2 of these from posters that were ready to dump Barnes for him.....

Someone do a wellness check on JROY, man was turning down hefty trade proposals from short sighted posters here, only to end up with a 33 year old Jrue Holiday, who is looking to retire after his current deal ends.

Only guys on the table were Boucher and Nowell.

The offer likely was Trent plus futures, which is very similar to the Heat offer. What this tells me is that they wanted an actual player like Jrue for, currently, unknown reasons.

Honestly Giannis was never leaving the bucks. He’s not that guy.

I’m happy this isn’t happening. Build around Scottie.

My guess is Masai balked at including Dick and a far future first.

Jrue to Blazers doesn't really make a lot of sense for them. Do we try to get him or even Ayton?

Looking forward to the F5 thread that goes nowhere this time next year for Embiid, and the one for Luka the year after.

For what purpose? Go for another 7-10th seed? Just end the misery and hit the reset button, FO needs to face the music.

there will always be another disgruntled allstar/superstar to go for....the important thing is that Raptors still have the assets to make a big trade, as long as the team isn't being completely gutted.

Especially since it was reported Miami hadn’t even spoken to Portland.

I am kind of happy the Heat get screwed over. And as for the Gianni's pipe dream, he's going to be an FA around when Dame can't play at his current level. That's going to be an old team.

I'm mostly laughing at everyone who thought we were getting Lillard...and especially those who wanted to move Barnes for him

Surprised Raptors didn’t beat an offer of Holiday, Allen a 2029 first and 2 swaps. But the Blazers thought it was a good idea to trade 4 players for one of the most infamously soft and overpaid bigs in the league, so who knows what they’re thinking.

Not sure why anyone’s celebrating the Bucks making the deal, they’ll probably run the East for several years from this. I hate Riley too but the Heat have won fewer titles in the past 10 years and their stars are ancient.
