After calming down a bit and being rational. My guess is Dame said no to Toronto and wants to compete for a chip. He probably felt that his best chance of the offers available was with the Bucks. Portland, rewarding Dame for his loyalty over the years obliged.

That’s my going theory. There is no way our package wasn’t better than this.

This is my theory as well. Blazers got offers from us and the Bucks they could live with. They asked Dame and it was an easy decision to go to the Bucks.

However, to play devil's advocate, this is why you sweeten the pot when you make a better offer. Like if we presented the overwhelming best offer, Blazers would've said to hell with Dame and would've shipped him here.

Basically this. It was down to Toronto and Milwaukee, and they asked him which team he’d rather play for. He chose Milwaukee to play with Giannis. I might be in the minority, but I’m relieved.

Nurk is grittier and better defensively than Ayton and will play his ass off where as Ayton will lapse in important playoff moments. Dude cannot be relied on to stay healthy though

Riley and Miami screwed up badly. Milwaukee will have a few solid seasons if Dame can remain consistently healthy, otherwise they're getting old very quickly. Portland are really content with the new Scoot/Shaedon core and it's highly probable that Dame didn't want anything to do with Toronto.

Enough with the whining. Dame wasn't the guy for us. Nor is Giannis. Our core is Scottie/Pascal/OG and we'll likely be targeting Shae when he's an UFA in '27. Looking forward to Darko setting a new culture, Scottie hopefully taking a big leap and swag returning.

Also I wonder how Jrue feels. He was the final piece that helped them get over the hump and win a championship and they shipped him out just like that. That's gotta hurt.
