He's covered on defense by their frontcourt. This is disappointing to say the least. Fans didn't want Dame because he's old and didn't want Smart (who historically shoots better than Jrue in the postseason; main difference he didn't have Giannis on his team). Now you're pining for Jrue?
Dame-White-Tatum-Porzingis-Williams would've beaten any team in the league.
Having said that, Cs in 5, as long as they're healthy. No further moves necessary.
The Celtics are loaded up and ready to go. Can beat anybody if they can gel this season.
Nevertheless, Jrue would be a great Smart replacement. Better O than Smart, better D than Brogdon.
Hmmm, Marcus career playoff 3pt% is .334, Jrue is .331. So that's a bit of a wash. Good point though, I expected Holiday to be better than Smart on that metric. Overall, Jrue better offensive threat though.
He's also way too expensive for our needs. We struggle on offense late in games. Jrue doesn't help there at all. Probably the main reason why we made the switch from Smart to Porzingis (though Smart of course was the plan B in that trade when Brogdon deal fell through).
Career Playoff TS%: 50.2% (Jrue) vs. 53.2% (Smart). Jrue takes more shots and has higher usage on lower efficiency.
