Dame is going to get abused on defense. Jrue really was a huge part of what Milwaukee did defensively. I'd imagine the Bucks are in a lot more shootout type of games this season with Dame at PG

We had offensive rating of 114 against the Heat despite shooting 30.3% from the three, a good portion of that coming on open and wide open threes. Spo didn't really do a great job. We just missed open shots.

Come to Boston.
And yes, he is better than Smart, regular season and Playoffs.
And if you put him on this team with all the talent, even better better.

I don't mind rooting for the Bucks when Celtics are out of the picture. They've been a good story as a successful franchise in a smaller market. ECF Celtics/Bucks could be a classic.

Lmao Miami.
Good, Celtics are better when considered #2
They were considered #2 last year....and lost to #8
Correct, therefore the absence of the previous #1 seed puts the Celtics as the new favorite for the conference finals and they under delivered.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
If the pressure of being favored in a series cripples this team, then they are never winning a title anyway so there's nothing to discuss.

So, in that aspect of the situation, you have to like it and more fun to not Fear The Deer.

Re: Trade/Free Agency Thread 2023-24, part 11th Heaven
I really like Jrue in a lot of ways but he has not been a good postseason performer in his career, offensively at least. I haven't found the graphic I'm looking for but there was a list of players and their true shooting percentage RS vs playoffs, and Jrue was dead last on the list as far as the biggest drop-off. He's been an abysmal postseason shooter/scorer. Despite Giannis and Middleton getting the attention of the defense.
Edit: Here's the chart...

Spo will have Miami players going through conniption fits to get Lillard isolated on a defensive island in front of Jimmy Butler. It will be interesting to see if the Bucks change their defensive philosophy to hide him.

We'd have to give up a lot of talent to match salary and picks to make it make sense for Portland, but hopefully it's getting some serious consideration because that window is definitely now. Would love to have Jrue.

Only way I see Portland trading Jrue for Brogdon is if Rob is included.

We will need you again.
Agreed with most of that but I would think Portis and/or Giannis could be the answer to the question in bold..
Tatum-Porzingis PnR would be unguardable. Giannis can only cover one of those guys. Portis is a negative defender. Bucks still haven't addressed their need for wing defenders. (Crowder doesn't count.) My guess is they put Middleton on Tatum initially. Cs can force a switch or swing to Jaylen who would have a chair (Connaughton or Beasley) guarding him.

On WEEI,
the hosts (Jones, Arcand, Mego),
they're already picking the Bucks over the Celtics.
This is laughable.

Wonder who the Bucks 5th starter is now?
C Lopez
F Giannis
?
G Middleton
G Lillard
I would think it'd be either Portis, Beasley, Connaughton or Crowder. The 3 guys who don't start - those 3 come off the bench to round out their rotation. They have basically no depth after that, but they now have an open roster spot...I'm guessing they try to fill it with either Payne, Terence Davis or Rivers..

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

The difference is Jrue Holiday was looked on to be the #2 or #2.5 in Milwaukee. In Boston, Jrue would be option #4 behind Tatum, Brown and Porzingis. I like Holiday because of his defense.
I'm still torn if the Celtics should pursue or not. Trust in Brad Stevens.

They don't want Ayton and Rob on the same team, especially when they're beginning a big rebuild..
