Don’t blame the Heat. Even the reported opening offer was better than this garbage return. Portland just didn’t want to give into Dame, nothing more to it than that.

Got him a competent center several years after forcing him to play with the likes of the dead corpse of Gasol & Bonafide Bum Baynes.

Refused to get him another star player to take some of the pressure off him. Hence, why he remains one of the league leaders in double teams attracted.

Refused to get him a playmaker that can set him up.

Giannis complained and basically threatened the Bucks organization and the FO acted fast and got him Dame.
Siakam is too quiet for his own good.

Drafted him, focused on his development, gave him a huge leash in a year we were trying to win a title including making him chuck 3's when he was shooting 20%. Promoted him and gave him the keys to the franchise. The corpse of Gasol played the Raps into game 7 of the second round before Pascal not picking up a basketball for 3 months cost us a chance at repeating. But other than that, what have they done for him.

Grayson Allen and the 2029 1st rounder were in this trade.

You know how we could have clearly beat the Bucks offer?

By trading Fred for that at last year's deadline and put it in the Same deal.

Sliding doors my friends... one of the worst trade deadlines we've ever had keeps on delivering.

To clarify my post here:

Trade Fred at last season's deadline for that package.

This year the Bucks don't have those assets to put in the Dame trade, and we do.

Our lowball Trent offer has more disposable picks in it and the Bucks offer is hampered with pick inflexibility, knocking them out as a destination. Likely clearing the Heat offer too with minimal impact to our core.

Which 2029 first rounder are you referring to ?

Grayson was not traded with a 1st rounder.

Explains now why he made those comments. Clearly Bucks were contemplating jumping into the Dame stakes, and Giannis told them to double down.

Still doesn't mean Giannis is extending, because their future in a couple of years could be very bleak.

It's obvious at this point, look at the return. Masai could have beat it if he wanted to. We just didn't want to do the deal. It is what it is.

The Raptors were the silent winner of the deal. Really happy we didn't do it.

Is it safe to assume lillard chose the bucks over toronto and by default milwaukee chose jrue over og?

If so, lillard made the right choice.

Siakam can't hold a candle to Giannis. You don't swing for the fences to make a player of Siakams calibre happy, you trade them when they are unhappy. This is Giannis FFS man, get your head right lol

I still don't think they beat the Nuggets. Definitely a punchers chance, and easily favourites in the east now.

Don’t really blame Masai. Unless he kept OG out of the room Blazers just decided to take a worse package for no reason. If OG wasn’t on the table then Masai is not a serious person.

Not to mention this team reportedly haven't even offered an extension to him. Given our track history of FA signings, I'd much rather have Siakam at the max, than a bunch of Carroll's who's salary ballast at best.

If the Raptors are still stuck in no man's land, I wouldn't be surprised if Siakam left us for nothing next summer .

I believe sidsid is referring to the Bucks FRP that was rumoured to be offered for Fred last trade deadline. If we had accepted that offer, then the Bucks would not have the FRP to trade today.

I think they do. The gap between Dame and Murray is pretty big.

You try to build around your number 1 for sure. You don't make trades like this for your number 1, who is in reality a number 2.

You're getting hung up on Siakam in the pecking order, not his actual skill level. Siakam was a number 1 due to a lack of better options. No team in the league would build with him as a true number 1 option. Come on dude, even the biggest Siakam supporters know he isn't at that level.

Masai once again being too loyal to his championship guys. Now watch OG leave for nothing next offseason.

If that happens mlse should re-evaluate Masai and Bobby.

Return to Toronto Raptors
