Adam silver got involved who works for the billionaire owners that said nah shut that shyt down. we were attacked from all angles so im not going to jump on the pat hate bandwagon when they wouldnt even talk to us. see what the youngins can give us and let Herro prove he is the Future with Bam.

the real enemy is the Suns tho. they got Beal then helped portland keep Dame away from us. we might have a front office rivalry with Jones being this generations new godfather :o

I actually think JJ was willing to help facilitate, if the rumors of them being interested in Caleb are true. As Dame's agent said plainly, it takes two sides to make a deal happen and I believe at this point all rational parties can see which side wasn't interested.

I thought the issue with Beal was that he chose not to come here? Something about his NTC?

No no no, Beal had a NTC but Phoenix offered Washington more and Beal was ok going there, at no time did he say no to being trade to Miami. I'm sure if Miami would have offered more he'd been ok waiving his NTC for Miami.

Same as last season. 0 expectations and we're 2 wins away from the chip.

This team is at its best under the radar.

Exactly. If anything, I was annoyed going into the season last year because I felt we did nothing at the 4 spot and got worse. We ended up going to the Finals like we all predicted.

Beal would’ve came per Barry but we either didn’t offer or we wanted him to remove the NTC from his contract. Can’t remember which

Heat trade:
- Kyle Lowry ($29.6m/Expiring)
- Future 1st Round swap

Heat receive
- Buddy Hield ($19.2m/Expiring)
- TJ McConnell ($8.7m/$9.3m)

Indy probably asks for more but I'd like it. :)

I don't buy that. Under the radar is good for getting to where you aren't expected, but winning requires talent and luck. Every time we've won, we've been respected as contenders. We're seen as a fluke rn and have been viewed that way this entire Jimmy/Bam era.

This is like the Marino Dolphins almost. Just not quite there.

Yep Beal was a lost opportunity.
Jrue gonna end up in Philly or Boston (although the Pels might be an interesting landing spot too). I'm already prepared for it.

So who is the next Heat target? Lavine at the trade deadline?

It’s like I said a few days ago. Like it or not other teams are sick of Miami (Pat) and his ego. His approach is to collude and make under the table deals. He’s sneaky old school type that is on record telling other GMs to stfu, calling them mother f’ers. Riley’s image is strained when it comes to dealing with other teams. Appreciate everything he has done but you have to know when to go in a different direction. Boston’s knew they needed to get rid of Ainge, they did so. Wouldn’t be surprised if Boston now lands Drew and the east really buries us for good.

Not a Beal fan think he’s on the downswing and has a terrible contract would rather have herro than him

Dame is the one that got away

Any links to articles on that? I'd love to read them.

Say what you want.... but 3 rings since 1995 is more than Bucks, Celtics, 76ers, Knicks combined.

Yep, Portland wanted to burn bridges and took a lesser offer. Oh well. It's a business.

Maybe, but Beal would have been 1 year older at the end of his current contract then Lillard is now, I'd expect Beal will be good his whole contract based on age, Lillard still not sure on but could be, but 35 and 36 making 60 mil a year?

I don't like Lowry for Hield. Holiday would be a great fit, but I don't see that happening.

Holiday, Herro, and Butler would allow Herro to hide on defense and would be pretty good with Bam and a floor spacer on offense.

Y'all can forget about Jrue. Blazers burnt that bridge and want nothing to do with us unless it's heavily in their favor.

Or…..and stay with me here cuz this is WILD speculation. They needed a young Center and got Ayton. Plus Drew is worth more than Herro. They didn’t need Drew or Herro, but if they need to flip one of them, then Drew brings in more assets than Herro.

Just face it, we tried to shovel a crap deal onto a team for a top 10 player. Not only that but Riley started the negotiations with his “godfather” dementia personality, stating “this is our one and only final offer” bs like he forgot to take his meds. Thinking the Heat were the only team in town and he could bend the Blazers over. He’s still riding the high that Wade provided him by bringing him Lebron n Bosh and he’s trying to feel his penis rise one more time. It failed, he failed us all.
