If the Celtics can get Jrue we would win 65+ games.

Jrue is starting to get into that washed stage man. He was trash in the playoffs
Also he said he's going to retire after this contract is over

Re: Trade/Free Agency Thread 2023-24, part 11th Heaven
I would take Jrue Holiday on the team for the minimum after he gets waived (he won't). Okay, we can't since we're past the apron. But no way I'm giving up Brogdon + Williams + salary filler + picks for him. Brad, don't even think about it. There should be cheaper options for another defensive guard.

You realize that in order to get him, we'd have to give up Brogdon AND Rob (or Al)..to match salary..
Still think we're winning 65+ games?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Bucks will be scary if healthy, at least for this year. Maintaining health will be tough with Lopez and Dame getting old, Middleton breaking down, and Giannis coming off an injury. If they're smart they'll shoot for 4th or 5th place.

I'm with you. They have a rookie head coach, no assets to upgrade the roster, no depth and an ancient team. For all the talk about Holiday disappearing in the playoffs, I'm also old enough to remember him dominating Lillard on both ends of the floor when the Pelicans swept the Blazers a few years back. Yes, Dame is an upgrade over Jrue but let's not pretend like his playoff resume is spotless either.

That's gross. Holiday has become so overrated in non-Bucks fans minds.

A Brogdon based deal, sure but definitely not DW.

I like the deal for the Suns. If healthy, they're better than the Nuggets and Warriors. But Nurk isn't the defensive anchor they think he is. It's no longer 2018.

Jrue still has fuel, he can do everything in defense like Smart and is a better shooter, if they found depth in BO, I would do this trade
If he would agree to extend for less money, it would be ideal, because he has PO

That is an overpay for Jrue, but I think he would add value in the right deal.
Does anyone on this board remember a few years back the Pels upsetting the Blazers as Rondo and Jrue shutdown Dame and CJ? Imagine getting a pissed off Jrue to then guard Dame if we meet in the playoffs? Would be epic

Neither for 33-year-old Jrue who makes $37M this year, has a player option for $39M next season, and then has said he’s retiring.
Have always liked him, but he’s very likely near the end of it, friends.
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

Very different team compositions. Plus Jrue is older now while Dame is coming off maybe his best offensive season ever while having a weak supporting cast.

Extend? Jrue announced this summer that he's retiring at the end of his current contract.

Stop bringing logic and valid points to my dream! Seriously, all very on point, I just wanted a grudge match where we benefit lol

Oh, I missed that, then nothing.

If he is a better shooter than Smart, he has not shot better than Smart in the playoffs. Even compare their Finals performances. Smart shot significantly better vs. the Dubs than Jrue vs. the Suns, no lie, while both played third banana.
