Trade Brogdon & RWIII with picks for Jrue.

Starting 5 Jrue White JB Tatum KP

Who beats that team?

I don't get it. Why do certain pundits always believe the Heat can get their man for a carton of milk (in this case turned sour)?

Jrue still has fuel, he can do everything in defense like Smart and is a better shooter, if they found depth in BO, I would do this trade

If he would agree to extend for less money, it would be ideal, because he has PO

If he is a better shooter than Smart, he has not shot better than Smart in the playoffs. Even compare their Finals performances. Smart shot significantly better vs. the Dubs than Jrue vs. the Suns, no lie, while both played third banana.

Everyone thought Al was done, so we know how he played the last 2 POs.

Jrue has a winner's mentality, has a ring, would be a nice addition for the right price, but too big a salary to match.

I agree that he had a bad shooting % in PO, but he would have a lot more space here than with the Bucks

These are essentially useless stats since Lillard will have a much better team now, but here's how he did vs. Derrick White in their 7 matchups:

51 total pts, 14/43 FG (32.56 FG%), 3/18 (16.67% 3FG%), 20/22 FT (90.91% FT%)

White has to defend him better at the free throw line.

Defensively, that team is unbeatable, but I wouldn't give RW in a trade.

Way too much of an overpay for Jrue IMHO. It further compromises our size and depth. FWIW, I think the deal should be cobbling together salary and then picks with as little impact on our current rotation as possible. If Blazers like it, great. If they dont, thats ok too

I get it but we now have KP, you may say he won’t be healthy but we won’t win it all without him heathy anyway.

Not really an overpay, both players are hurt a lot. Picks will be in the 20s.

We can't play Pritchard in the playoffs vs Dame. Prichard probably wasn't gonna be in the playoff rotation anyways.

I think we match up good vs Milwaukee.

We've got KP/Rob/Al to match up with their bigs Lopez/Portis/Giannis.

White can defend Dame. We can also have Tatum, Brown and possibly Stevens take turns defending Dame at times too.

We don't really want Brogdon defending Dame so we'll try to keep him defending someone like Beasley or Connaughton.

8th man in the rotation would be Stevens - who has been an effective Giannis-stopper in the past.

If we need some more shooting, we can put Hauser in for spot mins here and there as the 9th man.

Celtics in 6.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'm with you. They have a rookie head coach, no assets to upgrade the roster, no depth and an ancient team. For all the talk about Holiday disappearing in the playoffs, I'm also old enough to remember him dominating Lillard on both ends of the floor when the Pelicans swept the Blazers a few years back. Yes, Dame is an upgrade over Jrue but let's not pretend like his playoff resume is spotless either.

Was just going to say, should trade him to some dark horse team like New Orleans.

The value isn't there to trade both Brogdon and RW for Holiday. Brogdon + PP + fillers + our three '24 picks except for the GS FRP, that's a deal worth looking into.

I don’t think there is enough fillers to get there salary wise. Need to include Al or RWIII

Well, there goes Jrue's extension. It won't happen in Portland. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jrue go to Miami for Herro and some salary ballast.

If we can get Kris Murray in that trade, I'd do it.

I do wonder If Jrue gets traded to a contender like Miami-Toronto-Philly etc, does that make Brad want to use some of his draft assets "this year" to help Boston stay the Top Dawg?? Like it or not the Bucks have to be "up there" with Boston now.

Or does he save the assets for a Big splash next summer??
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

They're not yet done. They're replacing Lowry and Love with Donovan Mitchell and Jokic.

Jrue said he's gonna retire after his contract is up in 2 years.
