I think the Blazers best bet is to try and get pieces from Toronto, who has a lot of wings but no PG.

Maybe they can trade for OG straightup, or a package like acouple of 1st round picks, Boucher, Grady Dick.

Raptors are not giving up anything for Jrue. They’ll just roll the dice with Schroeder.

Philly in a three way where we get back picks from a third team?

Nets for Simmons & Picks

Clippers for Morris + Filler & picks

OKC for Bertans, Oladipo, Poku & picks. Holiday seems too duplicative here though with Dort on the roster

What picks do the Clips have?

They can trade a swap in 2027 and/or picks & swaps in 2028, 2029, 2030

I believe Boston has all their picks (or most of them?) plus ones from other teams.

I do think it would be pretty funny to trade him to OKC for Miami's 2025 pick that'll convey in 2026 as unprotected if it doesn't in 2025.

Yeah, why would you want an all-nba defender and all star when you have a scrub like Schroeder leading your team of untouchables.

I’m not saying I agree with it, I’m saying we’re talking about Masai here. Don’t get upset with me trying to explain how I believe Masai would operate based off of previous history.

Masai is worse than Olshey when it comes to overvaluing his guys. Reports this afternoon where that the reason the Dame thing even got so far in Toronto is that the Raptors ownership is getting frustrated by how Masai has run the team since their championship season.

Celtic fans on the GB are hard no’s on Jrue, but I’m not buying that has any baring in reality. There’s already rumors rumbling out of Boston he’s a target for them.

What contracts would Boston trade to get to $36 million?

Brogdon and Robert Williams. Almost a perfect match and two players who have been on the block this summer.

Boston seems high on the list. He would be a perfect fit after they lost Smart. They have some picks, plus Brogdon and Robert Williams for Jrue works.

Heat for Lowry and Martin - but have to imagine Blazers and Heat aren't gonna be on speaking terms rn lol. I don't think Riley's ego can take trading for Jrue at this point.

Dallas, Tim Hardaway Jr and Holmes? Think they're tapped out on picks.

Chicago? Blazers pick back plus one more, then Lonzo's salary and Patrick Williams + Drummond for filler to make deal work?

Sixers? Maybe a 3 team deal that finally gets Harden moved, Jrue back to Sixers and stuff from 3rd team to Portland? Don't think Morey would consider that enough.

Brooklyn? Simmons and 2 picks for Jrue?

Saw something the other day that said Brogdon was a little unhappy with the Celtics. Unfortunately, they are a fairly young team so any picks won't be all that good.

Holiday for Bertans, Dipo, Poku, Mann, Highest 24 FRP, MIA 25 FRP, 4-5 future SRP

OKC keeps Dort, gets Holiday as the vet to guide them into the POs.

PDX take a flyer on Poku, 2 picks and some SRP flyers. Also really want another 24 pick as the big man depth is looking unique (Not elite guys, but tons of really nice talents with real size)

I’m still a Poku believer. Not a star but a unique do it all IMO. Also like a hedge with Mann as the bench scoring guard for if / when we move Ant.

G - Scoot Henderson / Anfernee Simons / Tre Mann
G - Shadeon Sharpe / Anfernee Simons / Tre Mann
F - Jerami Grant / Matisse Thybulle / Rayan Rupert
F - Aleksej Pokusevski / Kris Murray / PHX Guy
C - DeAndre Ayton / Jabari Walker JR / Moses Brown

+ Highest of 24 OKC FRP
+ 25 MIA FRP LP (26 MIA FRP UNP)
+ 29 MIL FRP UNP
+ 28 MIL FRP Swap UNP
+ 30 MIl FRP Swap UNP
+ 4-5 OKC SRP

It would be funny as **** if he went to Miami for Herro+filler and 2 picks, talk about getting the max value for Dame it would be like we traded him to both teams.

I will nominate a statue built to Cronin if this is just a taste of his GM ability.

Now tell me Boston’s PF & C rotation after that trade along with their recent injury history and age…

Even if you played Tatum exclusively at PF they’re covering the other 60 minutes a game with Porzingis, Horford, and Luke Kornet 82 games a year? GTFO

It's more likely the Blazers would cut a deal with the Lakers than the Heat

I would keep an eye on the Clippers

What about GSW for CP3 (waived) a pick and Kuminga?
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

In an ideal world it's CP3 Kuminga and a pick, yes, but don't know if Golden State will do it.

I actually saw a good point on Blazers Edge re: Holiday.

Create the problem (Dame in the east with Giannis of all people), hold the solution (Jrue's defense). While Jrue has dropped off since 2018 and Dame has only gotten better and obviously playing with Giannis is so far beyond playing with Nurk (like I am laughing even trying to come up with an appropriate metaphor for out of this world the difference is), it'll be interesting to see how the contenders in the east and even some in the west feel about this opportunity.

This deal would make sense. Warriors want to keep up with the Jones', and we get a young player with a lot of upside at a position of need. Like trading Rod Strickland for Rasheed Wallace.

of the trades you mentioned:

Boston - I'd be ok with that depending on if Brogdon could be moved for something else and the Blazers got a couple of picks. Robert Williams is interesting but with Ayton already a Blazer, doesn't make much sense

Chicago - Will Ball ever play again? seems like he may not. Unloading his contract might require a first so I'm thinking the Blazers would need their own pick back, a lightly protected first, and a more protected first. Plus Williams and I'd shoot for Caruso

Brooklyn - I just don't know. I guess it's a neutral salary deal. Blazers should get Clowney too

you know hat would make for a dynamic backcourt? SGA + Jrue....and OKC has lots and lots of first round picks. Bertans + Oladipo + Jaylin Williams + 3 first's? and a 2nd or two?

As a chicago fan...I can tell you right now no way in hell our fanbase or our GM does a deal like that.

3 1st rounders (basically 4 with WIlliams a #4 overall pick), and key role players for a 33 above average starter? Not a chance of that happening. At best they'd do Ball, Drummund, Williams and some seconds (maybe 1 1st rounder tops). The Bulls are in limbo right now to the point that they know that the first 20 games are key if they don't look like a Top 4 in the East (which they are not at all) then they plan to rebuild and ship out all the vets.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
