This just confirms everything I've been saying about Portland the last year or so.

They never wanted to build around Dame and were looking for any reason to get rid of Dame without looking like the bad guys to their fanbase.

Again at the end of the day if Dame was against coming here then yeah you stop talking trade but thinking that you could get Dame without at the very least putting OG in the deal is a hilarious level of delusion.

Shoot your shot I guess. It seems Masai is never serious about any trades that don't involve shovelling more FRPs to the Spurs.

Damn shots fired on Masai

They didn’t need all this drama if they wanted to trade him. And in hindsight, they could’ve gotten more for him had they made the trade earlier. The Suns emptied the shelf to pull off the KD and Beal trades.

Second, it made no sense to bring Dame back and be at his mercy for another few years. At some point he likely would’ve asked for a trade again.

Finally, Dame and no player have a right to determine where they will be traded. If players want freedom they should enter free agency. In this case, Dame forfeited his right to choose by signing multiple extensions including most recently when it was clear the Trail Blazers were on the treadmill. He demanded out, and at that stage, it was up to the Trail Blazers to pursue a trade in their best interests, not his.

I think OG was offered but Masai asked Portland to not reveal that if they dont do the trade. I have a feeling both OG and Trent wont be happy with how they were being considered as trade bait for Lillard and probably will not re-sign with us. All this BS from the Raps media mouthpieces about OG not being offered is just them trying to cover their tracks. Just watch we will have to trade both OG and Trent at the deadline, and no one will give us anything of value, even worse than previous deadline offers for our players. Every GM knows both Gary and OG were available for trade for a star. This is going to get messy this year, and I think Masai has just put the nail in his coffin. The sad part is I don’t think any replacement GM will be anything near what Masai use to be for us.

I said ever since Cronin took over that they were waiting on the other to make the break up move. This was a high school relationship that lasted 12 years. I don't care for the package but good on Cronin for not caving in to his demands and sending him to Heat

Have fun with the rumours from these less than credible sources, but keep it in perspective and don't base your entire fan identity on them.

This just isn't the way it's done around here.

But it's always great to have a poster tell other posters what to believe and what to think and what kind of fan to be.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

You are working way to hard to construct this. You have no basis for any of this.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Just a week ago every beat writer was proposing OG in trade proposals and now all of a sudden after the trade they are stating OG was never offered and Masai would never do that. Come on its pretty obvious whats happening with trying to cover their tracks and not ruffle any feathers of their current players. No way in hell they would be considered front runners for the past few weeks if all they were offering was Trent, Gradey and fillers.

Your telling me Trent , Gradey and filler has more value than Herro and 3 picks

It's why I can't ever get mad at players not being loyal to their teams. These teams will backstab you in a heart beat.

Portland really told Dame to sit out games just to go draft his successor. It's a cold cold world out here

Or it means beat writers have no idea what’s being offered and just going with obvious potential offers. Everyone assumed OG had to be on the block. They do this to generate clicks.

There only a few people who actually know if he was on the block. And I highly doubt it’s one of these sourceless beat writers.

If the Hornets drafted Scoot, would Blazers have drafted a Thompson Twin or Brandon Miller? Maybe. Or maybe they do a trade then. We'll never know but the Hornets robbed us of certainty by being idiots.

We saw the full story play out over the last 2 years. It was pretty obvious to anyone who was paying attention to the Blazers.

They did a stealth rebuild completely under Dame’s nose. They literally traded Josh Hart last season for a first and Cam Reddish man.

Soooooo what are Masai & Bobby gonna do next?!

I hope these rumours of going after Jrue & true. Makes zero sense using future assets to just lock in being mid lol. Does this FO have any clue at all what they're doing moving forward?! Smh lol

We already did that acquiring Jak, I wouldn't be surprised if they doubled down yet again.
