Especially if they reroute Jrue and move Grant at the deadline. With the new CBA a high 2nd round pick becomes much more valuable pick as well.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

You know Jimmy is livid.

And if he sees that Henson quote about Giannis choosing Khris over him.

It really sounds like the Blazers GM asked for Jimmy or Bam, presumably as a negotiating starting point and/or because he was annoyed with the trade request to only one team. Riley got offended, went to the beach, and never called back assuming Dame’s agent would facilitate the entire trade. Then Riley turned on the TV Wednesday to see Dame traded to the Bucks. Hilarious.

There was a line in one of the articles about how thoroughly the Suns evaluated Bucks players given last year’s prolonged Crowder negotiations.

However I just can’t imagine Phoenix preferred Allen to other options on our roster.

Rather I think there was a game of chicken that happened where Horst just refused to deal Pat or Bobby even after the immense pressure Giannis put on the franchise.

Phoenix folded. And Portland didn’t get MarJon or their 2024 second back either.

Phoenix just wanted off Ayton so bad they didn’t want to risk messing things up. Grayson is expiring and they can move him easily, so they took him.

Midds has a ring and Jimmy doesn’t. Giannis wasn’t wrong.

As much as I love Bobby and Pat, I think we should be looking to use them to acquire a perimeter stopper type, preferably with some depth coming back to boot.

MKE: Dort, Mann, Jaylin or JRE
OKC: Portis, Connaughton

Lillard / Mann
Dort / Beasley
Middleton / Beauchamp
Giannis / Crowder
Lopez / Jaylin or JRE

I agree. Feel like Bobby is going to be less impactful on offense in a deep playoff run than previously. Lillard will take like 5 FGA more than Jrue and they have to come from somewhere. Middleton will probably run less iso opportunities but get more C&S opportunities. Brook will probably get less iso scoring opportunities but more PnR possessions. Sacrificing some Bobby midrange jumpers seems very natural. And if you take that away, we might just be better off with someone who plays hard defense every possession and is fine standing in the corner/making cuts on offense over a guy that has a bigger offensive bag but is a mediocre defender at best. A Josh Hart-like player would actually fit really well.

As salty as Bill Simmons is that we got Dame, he does raise a decent concern regarding our ability to defend some of the elite perimeter scorers in the league. Granted, we could just overwhelm on offense to a point where it doesn't really matter, but it would be nice to have a guard/wing defender to deploy on those types of dudes. Hart would be a godsend, but NYK love him. Who are some other guys of that ilk that Portis or Portis+Pat could fetch? I saw some Caruso mentions.

I am ok standing pat now but Dosunmu or Caruso from the Bulls or going full Golden State overscoring everybody like somehow get Bogdanovic as our starting SG.

I would keep Pat, both because he’s legit good and a useful playoff piece to have, and also because he’s cool with Dame and would help make Dame’s transition here easier.

I’m in total agreement about Bobby though, see if you can flip him for a couple depth pieces. I think he has real value around the league.

Not trading Pat or Bobby rn, just see whats available off the scrap heap going forward. I think Wes Matthews is pretty cooked but guys like that available every year, could have got Pat Beverley last year, someone is or will be available to step in. Hopefully Beauchamp is ready to step up.

Bucks dont want Robin & Jae Crowder being our back up bigs

Would be so great if Marjon and AJJ could become really good perimeter defenders over the course of this year. They seem to have the athleticism, but they aren't that good at it right now. Maybe Griffin helps them become that?

I cancelled my NBA League Pass subscription cancellation. I had no intention of watching RS Bucks Games, since we had the same roster. So take my money NBA... I believe a huge number of Bucks fans subscriptions were cancelled or were thinking about cancelling. All of them are back to paid subscription now. Add the money that the league will earn from the Dame's Bucks jersey sold and a wild guess would be that the NBA League will earn nearly 100M from the Dame trade. Huge W for everyone involved.

Edit: I believe since 2021 Bucks are no longer a "small market" team. There are millions Bucks fans that are international, around the World.

I'm content to just roll with the roster as is while adding a buyout guy or two, but Bobby + minimum contract for Dorian Finney-Smith works salary-wise. That's the deadline trade to make if both A) Marjon doesn't grab a Top-8 rotation spot by the balls, and B) Crowder looks washed or semi-washed.

I’d do this deal in a heartbeat.

Does Dame have any siblings that we have to make room for at the end of the bench now?
