Absolutely disgusting. There are maybe 4 guys in the NBA that can do that and he is one of them. LeBron, Curry, Trae Young. I might be missing somebody but that skill is unteachable...

Huge Lebron fan but no way in hell is he doing that. It's Dame, Trae, Curry and that's it.

I know Paul George came across salty as hell.. but he wasn't wrong. That wasn't a great shot and definitely resulting. Like I'm all for Dame resulting the **** out of end game situations for us but I would hope it is better than running down the clock to launch a 40'.

And unlike Trae, Dame actually has a complete scoring package at the rim, mid-range, catch and shoot, etc. When Trae isn't busy being the league's premier foul merchant, his offensive impact absolutely craters.

ISO scoring

Dame: 1.17 PPP (91st percentile)
Trae: 0.94 (51st percentile)

Pick & roll ball-handler

Dame: 1.13 PPP (94th percentile lol)
Trae: 0.94 PPP (67th percentile)

Pull-up 3PT shooting:

Dame: 37.2% on 7.4 attempts per-game (absolutely insane)
Trae: 32.7% on 5.0 attempts per game

For reference, Dame shoots pull-up 3's off the dribble at that ridiculous volume more efficiently than the league average catch & shoot 3PT% (36.4). I'm so **** pumped to see this offense absolutely break the league.

Speaking of Butler getting 38 against Jrue (during the Marques interview)--do we have anything that shows how Matthews did when he was on him in that series?

I’m having a similar issue. My doctor diagnosed me with “Dame Time Disease”. He just told me take a lot of cold showers for the next couple months because that bad boy ain’t going anywhere any time soon.

Dame has hero ball tendencies and for every game winner is 10 bad bricks, but that’s the nba and all the greats missed way more than they made.

The only slight concerns I have for Dame is health, defense, and some weird, unforeseen decline in the next 8 months. None of those are dampening my excitement for the trade or the season though. This move is so good I still can’t believe it.

I think i heard at some point that if it goes on long enough, your skin will start to molt...which always sounded terrifying... but in this context i cant help but feel like the molting may be a good thing. Like a reptilian metamorphosis, meant to prepare us for a season of 11 out of 10 excitement levels.

He also got to the line 9.6 times a game last year compared to Traes 8.8, just an incredibly efficient offensive basketball player.

The funniest thing about listening to the Simmons pod was probably him waxing about how Boston still actually, somehow, matches up really well with Milwaukee and hilariously throws Derrick White out as a non-ironic sort of "Dame stopper". Like, dude, everyone who watches basketball just saw Boston trade away literally their two best Giannis/Dame defenders in Smart and Grant Williams. Good luck defending that 2-man game when Lillard gets Porzingis or 37-year old Al Horford switched onto him 20-feet from the basket lol. It's gonna be a slaughter.

32 PPG at 64.5% TS last season as the far and away #1 :o :o :o

Now you give that dude Giannis, the best fit with him in the league. Hard to wrap your head around what that's gonna look like

Giannis is gunna be able to set screens at 30 feet out and theyll have to cover dame because he can shoot from there and he will have a runway to the rim with the big out of the paint.

His Derrick White love is borderline psychotic.

To be fair... White is the perfect player for what they need from him. Less defense than Jrue but can actually be good on offense deep into the playoffs. If we could get a Derrick White to pair with Dame it would be 70 wins no problem

Also, not many people talking about the Dame/Brook two man game. Brook is so good on those lobs and hes never had a good passer outside of Joe Ingles and Khris when hes on. Hes used to cleaning up garbage.

Another thought: now that we have all this offense, do we move Bobby for some defense if Marjon aint ready?
