They probably know that he is so radioactive and facing such a long suspension, no team will touch him. But they'll get credit from his agent (and other players) for the attempt.
His contract this season is fully guaranteed. Future years are not.
If a team has a long term contract they are trying to get out of they may look into it.
. Apparently Jrue rescinded his retirement talk a couple weeks ago and reports suggest Boston intends/wants to sign him to an extension. I guess he'll opt out of the last year and sign a new deal (similar to Bogi).
