What's your Celtics 2023-24, Starting Lineup?

Tatum/Brown/Holiday/Porzingis are obvious. It comes down to Horford or White:

Holiday/White/Brown/Tatum/Porzingis or Holiday/Brown/Tatum/Porzingis/Horford

Playing big has some real advantages. So in an ideal world, I prefer #2. But the way our roster is right now, Porzingis and Horford are the only guys who should be playing minutes at the 5 in the primary rotation (Kornet is fine to fill in for injury but no one should build a plan A rotation with him a part of it). Filling all 48 minutes at center with one of Porzingis and Al just becomes much harder to do if you start both together.

Due to that, I think you almost have to go Jrue/White/Brown/Tatum/Porzingis with Al off the bench.

FWIW, Porzingis played about 3x as much center as power forward last season with the Weezards. Obviously different with higher stakes at play now. I imagine if we play the Bucks, we start double-big against Lopez-Giannis. And maybe against the Nuggets. But otherwise, we can start single-big against pretty much anyone.

Good problem to have. Having 6 guys capable of starting.

It's white or Horford.

Do you start white but then your best guard off the bench is Pritchard?

Or do you start Horford, and then your best big off the bench is Kornet?

I think it could be debated either way.

But my vote is white. Because he's better. And much younger. And Al is gonna sit out a lot of games to load manage. So why not keep the same starting 5 together all season, building continuity, rather than disrupting roles, minutes and disrupting the starting 5 every time Al is sitting out for load management?

Bring Al off the bench - that way we can keep his minutes kind of low so he is fresh come playoff time and is less likely to shoot 28% from 3 in a playoff series.

This trade creates an open roster spot. We now have just 10 guys on fully guaranteed contracts for this season.

Obviously another move is coming - probably for a big - hopefully for Biyombo.

As for backup PF, that is likely either Brissett or Stevens. Or it's Hauser..and when Hauser is on the floor then we probably have Tatum at the 4, or we have both Al and Porzingis out there together at the 4 and the 5..

I've always preferred Brown and Tatum at the 2 and 3. Love playing bigger that way.

As is always the case, I don't think it matters so much who starts the game as much as who closes it out, but I want our best 5 guys out there as often as possible so:

Holiday/ White/ Brown / Tatum/ Porzingis

We've got 1 MVP caliber superstar. 3 other guys who could legitimately considered the #2 option on a championship team. Both our guards were All-NBA Defensive team last year. Every guy plays outstanding defense and can also shoot the 3 ball offensively.

Insanely balanced, incredibly dangerous and, as far as I'm aware, all great teammates.

Besides, Horford isn't playing back-to-backs so this will give us more consistency with our starting unit.

Dunno call me crazy , but I think Porizingis off the bench with him starting in Horford stay on back to back.
Horford, Tatum, Brown, White and Jrue. As much as like to play big , useful have the offensive punch coming off the bench.

Yeah we need depth I don't know if biyombo has anything left but clearly bigger than the rest I like Stevens and brissett but 6'6 , 6'7 and thin framed at 4 is small ball city. Plus I don't think kornet and Hauser are world beaters at d Hauser showed a lot last year but still slow. Kornet can't guard a Roomba ( and honestly can't see how he is even on any roster.

Great top six after that someone has to drop at minimum 10ppg and provide great passing and defense. Super late in free agency for a needle mover , and maybe to late for a trade for a big. As is I still think we're amongst the favorites. I like it but I'd like it a lil more with a known commodity as the 7th or 8th best player.
