I feel pretty good about this roster, I think we have somebody that step up to be the 5th starter or could even do it situationally. Its a great opportunity for someone, we got shooters and defenders so who is gonna take advantage?

I think that in an ideal world Beauchamp would grow into the 2-3 swing position alongside Middleton. However, if he can't defend without fouling and can't hit corner 3s at a good clip, he will find himself coming off the bench all season. The team probably starts with Beasley there.

Brogdon’s an injury prone loser who has been taking subtle shots at the Bucks ever since he left. If he wants to come crawling back on a buyout then sure but we can’t be giving up assets for him.

If we trade Bobby it should be for a solid 3&D wing who can stay healthy and commit to his role.

I would have preferred Bullock but Payne is a fine backup PG which is a position we needed. We are really banking on young guys being ready to defend high level guys. Need MarJon & AJJ to step up this season and be our top guard & wing defenders

I guess we aren't running a switch everything type of defense this year. Dame & Payne basically can only guard 1s, Brook & Robin can't really switch. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing but it's interesting

It will be nice to have 2 people who can actually ball handle running the point. The amount of turnovers we had just dribbling at the 3 point line due to being awkward looking for a non-Giannis primary ball handler was depressing.

Save our limited powder for the deadline. Give a couple of the young guys some minutes and see what they have along with Crowder and Beasley. If they can’t do it you can still make a pretty decent upgrade with Portis or Pats plus the Portland 2nd closer to the deadline.

This is the best roster of the Giannis era right now. Well done Horst

Preseason opener is next Sunday at noon. No Packer game but still football Sunday. Didn't care because it's preseason. But now with Dame I want to watch some of it, he won't play much. But I don't think Bally's is even broadcasting it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I’m also guessing we are going to play some zone and blitz PNRs a lot this year. Mixing defenses like Miami does would be the way to go. Somehow Miami was unstoppable with Gabe Vincent, Strus and Love playing a ton of minutes. If they can make that work we should be ok as well. Maybe that’s my copium but I have confidence AG isn’t going to be inflexible and stubborn with his schemes

Switching everything is super overrated and easy to counter. The NBA has fallen in love with the idea of it, despite teams just countering switching defenses by simply hunting matchups by involving players they know will switch. It also causes confusion in the rotations when there's numerous unnecessary switches in a possession before a team is even trying to score (think switching on weave/hand off action or simple cut throughs). Offenses will cause a few cross matches so guards are now down low, bigs outside, AND then run their action looking to score and you have players in spots they aren't accustomed to having to make rotations and close outs that they normally don't.

Wonder if we had a standing offer for Payne and called him up when Bullock was waived to let him know it's now or never.

could also be that he had a standing offer from Boston but was waiting on the Jrue news. could have been more playing time for him there if they were moving Brogdon for sure.

The crucial flaw for us was that we didn't have any guards who could beat the median NBA big man off the dribble without a ball screen. Now we have one of the best at it. IOW teams aren't going to be switching everything on us anymore, either.

Yeah looks like they'll be around for now. As soon as they miss a payment the Bucks will be taking over with whatever their plan is.

Maybe the bucks can replace it with an instagram livestream.

Andre Jackson Jr is going to have some insane highlights this year if he’s the starting two. He’s basically a DMase level athlete. With no one guarding him? And he looks kind of like Phil Lynott.

No we've had 3. Crowder/Carter/Payne all have been on our roster since the series.

Carter was not part of the 2021 team though.
