Yea this is absolutely fascinating. Now that the offseason is basically over we added a ton of offense at the expense of defense with our player moves. Basically every rotation player we added is an offensive first guy who has been a minus defender(Dame, Payne, Beasley). We did add some depth guys like AJJ, Rolo, & Livingston who might be defensive pluses but all 3 seem far from a certainty.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Diop bring compared to Lanier. Dunleavy Jr to Bird.

NBADraft.net was a fun one.

He had nagging injuries all year last season but I haven’t heard yet at least about that continuing on now.

Maybe Connaughton can step up playing (once again) alongside Dame in Adrian / Stotts’ system. Our collective ball handling and playmaking is so much better making his weaknesses there matter less.

Possible Pat’s in for a career year.

So much harder to put Pat and his complete inability to slide his feet between Dame and Khris. That said if we're playing drop, his ability to recover for a rear contest is useful on high ball screens.

Yeah there’s simply no way that Pat is our starting 2. He can’t guard 1s so Lillard can be hidden on 2s. Pretty much the only guy on the roster with a shot at it is Dre.

I could see MarJon making sense depending on how he looks.

Green, Marjon, Livingston are probably your candidates.

I think we ultimately roll with what we have though. We'd eat this year's salary on Green and Marjon, this and next for Livingston.

Let's assume Bullock would sign with us (he might get offers he likes better).

I think you have to figure out whether TyTy or Green goes. We need the potential of Bullock. He could be a slightly younger, healthier version of Wes.

Reggie Bullock is one of those guys who gets labeled 3+D but really only provides the 3. He'd be fine but there's some heavy overlap with Beasley there.

One of those guys who at various times has been the most game wing defender on a team full of horrific wing defenders.

Green isn't on a two way, he signed a 3 year NBA deal with years 2 and 3 NGd.

One guy is a negative have to cover for defender, the other is hold serve. Bullock has more in common with Pat than he does Beasley, he's just bigger than Pat.

I don't hate the Payne signing, but I've never been much of a fan of him as a player.

I like Cam Payne a lot more than most of the people around here I usually agree with, but after sitting with it, I don't think I like him for this team post-Dame trade. Would rather have somebody you could plausibly put on the court with Dame (you'd have been able to with Jrue).

Let the young guys soak up vet savvy & see who can play now.

No point in rushing to pay names that don't thread the needle any different or better than who's around atm.

Delon Wright was the type of backup PG I wanted for much of the offseason. Unfortunate that it just didn’t seem to work asset/money wise. I still think Cam can help here but you get an extra 5-10 minutes of SG next to Dame with Delon.

Fingers crossed AJJ can be that guy.

I think Payne is the best backup PG available. Not sure who else would be out there...Dragic or Austin Rivers?

Wouldn't have a problem if they wanted to punt like AJ Green for a guy like Bullock who can step in and play minutes. I get the idea of throwing young guys into the fire but if they're ready they can beat the likes of Beasley and Bullock for minutes.

Let's keep the Politics out of it. Seems you are turning this into a political Cam Payne.

Feel like Payne has more all around skills that help you in the playoffs than Grayson... double upgrade imo

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
