Yep, unless we cut someone on a guaranteed deal (or make a trade) there's only 1 roster spot available. So Ntilikina, Sumner, and Hunter will all be competing for that spot.

We also used up our last 2-way roster spot yesterday with Maledon. Him, Bailey, and Black are all on 2-way deals.

Assuming Kai isn't coming back to the team anytime soon, we are actually pretty thin in the big department, Mark Williams Nick Richards and PJ Washington and I guess you could maybe throw Thor in there for an emergency. I wonder if the team regrets the decision to send Nnaji back to Barcelona.

Would it makes sense to try and sign a veteran Center for some emergency depth? Would bringing back biyombo be the craziest thing in the world?

I think Miles is going to play PF this season. So we're still 2 deep at each position + Thor.

We definitely need another C, we are an injury to Mark or Nick away from real pain. Sign up Biz or Dewayne Dedmon.

This is where a old head vet who has been around the block for a decade or so fits into the roster.

Nazr Mohammed, Theo Ratliff types who can be a grown up in the locker room and be ready to play when needed

Biyombo seems like a no brainer to me, great character, remains fit n ready and gives you 100% when needed, also had a great relationship with Lamelo when he was here

My only issue with Bismack is that he's not a very "vet presence" kind of guy. He's just a happy-go-lucky dude. They desperately need an old, crabby bad ass mother who don't take no crap off of nobody

I was thinking Aron Baynes for that, but he’s too old and never recovered from his fall. What crusty old buggers are around?

We can still go for lowry to help Miami get Jrue, Hayward's expiring can be used as I doubt Portland want Rozier's extra years and then they can choose from Bouknight, Nick Smith Jr (who might have created a little interest in Summer League), Thor, McGowens or Kai Jones.

Maybe Tillman could be available since Aldama is probably higher in Grizzlies's rotation now. He's ufa at the end of the season. I doubt his market value would be above 5/6M/y on a 3 years contract and he would be a pretty nice rotation center (good passer, tough, good fundamentals, just missing size and explosivity but there is already Williams for that).

Maybe in a three teams trade with the Pelicans (Memphis need upgrade at the wing, pels have too many wings, hornets have undesirable contracts and/or prospects).

After reading the Clifford comments in the Observer I would say there is very little chance we are trading Rozier or Hayward. He said they had organized the pre-training camp workouts, both looked great, were the leaders and also the best players in the workouts.
I think both play well this year and are the guys that this team looks up to. We do need a veteran nasty type in here though.

Miller will play a bunch but the starting line up is likely to be Ball, Rozier, Hayward, PJ and Williams at first then sub in Miles for PJ after the first 10. Miller, Richards and Thor will get minutes too. Probably in that order. Martin if he gets healthy plays a role and the back up PG is some combo of Theo and Frank. Miller will start if he completely balls out or Rozier gets banged up. He is still somewhat recovering from Mono but he will play a good bit.

Apparently the entire city of Charlotte has no hope.

Miller needs to be a priority. Hopefully we put him into the best position to succeed.

Not the first time I've seen these sentiments, word around the organization is that everyone has been really, really impressed with Miller.
