No Kelly Olynyk in a buyout. Edit: It says NTMLE, so I don't know.

I don't believe anybody ever disputed it, the draft order tells us everything we need to know.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
I don’t like Drummond all that much but I think a big center like him on the bench would be a good idea. Any time the Celtics play against a weaker team that uses a lumbering dude, they could insert the big guy and rest Horford and Zinger and still dominate with their wing play. They haven’t gone that route since Baynes was here so they probably won’t do it. They obviously like taking advantage of teams that use traditional centers that aren’t versatile enough to defend against 3s.

I’m up for some drummond on the bench. Plus all he has to do is hang onto the back of giannis, embiid and bam 6 times every game we play them haha.

On paper I am not opposed to drummond. He certainly can rebound with the best of them. And that is an area of weakness. But I think stevens wants a perfect locker room. Would drummond's possibly be upset with little to no minutes off the bench.

Not saying he is or isn't but just wondering out loud.

They can drop him just as easily if he acted out. I doubt he does that at this point of his career and age.

KO ($12.2M) makes less than the NT-MLE ($12.4M). If he gets waived, Celtics can sign him. I doubt Jazz waive him though unless he threatens to leak compromising pictures of Danny.

Portland with an interesting team now..

C Ayton
F Jerami Grant
Wing Sharpe
G Simons
G Scoot

Bench: Brogdon, Rob, Thybulle

That’s a pretty decent linuep. Could sneak in 8th-10th seed.

I thought the NBA said the 2nd apron crap isn’t going to kick in until next year. They’re giving teams a year to sort out their cap.

Someone from the no-name crew (Sam, Lamar, Svi, Oshae) will emerge as a rotation player come playoff time. Joe just needs to trust some of these guys and actually play them. Don't care too much about regular season wins. Health, chemistry, and finding that 7th/8th guy should be the priority.

Above first tax apron is what Keith Smith's post says.

This particular restriction will apply as soon as the season starts. Some of the other restrictions kick in 2024-25 season.

KO can be signed by an apron team if waived. He makes less than NT-MLE.

Agreed. My picks are Hauser 7th man and Stevens 8th man.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Just for fun..here's a list of guys who fit in the Grant TPE. I ranked them loosely in order of most likely to least likely to be traded by the deadline..

Cole Anthony
Jae'Sean Tate
Otto Porter Jr
Jalen Smith
Kira Lewis
Deni Avdija
Precious Achuiwa
Aaron Wiggins
Andre Drummond
Saddiq Bey
Jonathan Kuminga
Kenrich Williams
Isaiah Stewart

I figure that we'll hold onto that TPE for now. See how the season plays out..see which of these guys become available as the season goes on and see what (if any) gaps we need to fill..then maybe use the TPE before the deadline.

What a weird coincidence that almost every one of Brad’s additions have been impact stat darlings. But yeah, screw those advanced stats.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler promised another championship for the Heat. I think he has 3 or 4 of those now.
