Portland was not trading Dame to Miami because the nba do not want the heat dominating like 2010 all over again… plus, Lebron was scared of this trade going through .. would derail his plans completely for a 5th title.. we need to just get better from within.. herro needs to get his shooting percentages up.. enough with the excuses..

James Harden
Think about that weird run Waiters had for a minute in Miami, he’s that just kind of all the time.
I for one would be for it if we could get away with Lowry and a pick for him.
Harden
JRich
Butler
Love
Bam
+Herro
That fits to me and I think it would work

Yep, look in to it Pat.
Sixers will do it if it gives them tradeable assets. He’s clearly done there and I’d love to see who else would try and get him

Harden is an elite playmaker averaging double digit assists for the past three seasons. In my opinion trading for him solves several needs:
- Elite scoring
- Primary ballhandler / PG
- Great size for a guard at 6'5", averages 7 rebounds a game in the past few seasons

How many of you think Lowry didn’t mesh and work here because of conditioning issues? In other words, he did not like nor truly buy into the level of pressure and importance placed on meeting certain conditioning criteria. As a result, did he also fall out of favor with his teammates who do eat, sleep, sweat Heat culture?
If that was an issue for both Lowry and his teammates, how will someone like Harden mesh in this environment given the same criteria?

One is a top 30 player at worst and other top 50 at best
Bam would be the best lob threat he's had since Capela tbh.
Imagine the FT contests with Jimmy and Harden on the same side too
Doubt it happens though. Philly won't deal him here and strengthen a conference rival.
Yea’, I’m betting on a sixer emulsion before that happens… But yea’, the last two bigs he played with got awards; I don’t think it’s such a bad idea

Fat apples to fat oranges comparison… but yea’, he wants to win, which is all that matters
Shaq wasn’t a culture fit, but he wanted to win and we squeezed the remainder of his prime out of him. Same possible here.
And he’s come thru thw last two seasons in decent shape

I like Harden's fit with Bam but do we think he will work well with Butler and Herro? Seen too many circumstances where if Harden is forced to play off ball he sulks in the corner and plays no defense. Doesn't feel realistic to me.

I think he didn't work just because of age. Year 1 it looked great, team was rolling we got the 1 seed and had a decent run but now he's getting older and can't do the things he used to. But in his mind he still can. Now his role is being diminished and he's developed an attitude about it because he doesn't think he should be playing less/not starting.

I think in this scenario, Herro would play more off-ball as a spot up shooter and getting good, clean looks. He's a very good shooter when open, and while he's a handy ball handler and secondary facilitator, he isn't James Harden. I'd think this would increase his efficiency as he'd be taking easier looks, not as many 15-20 foot pull ups off the dribble.
Butler is already an adept off-ball player, cutter and playmaker. I'm confident he'd be fine too, and would get plenty of on-ball reps too as a facilitator.

I guess I can see that, Jimmy/Harden dominating the ball and Tyler filling the gaps and getting on ball reps when they both sit I guess. May be a tough sell to Tyler after all he's had to listen to in the offseason. Coming back to looking to prove everyone wrong to playing 3rd fiddle on offense

I think unless the Clippers pivot to trading for Brogdon because it could cost them one less pick and not having to include Mann or something I won't expect a Harden deal to be on the table for us.

He's under contract and playing on a team with high ambitions. It is what it is. He'd still be starting and playing an important role, and probably still dropping 20 a night with a good number of FGA's. He'd just get cleaner looks - maybe run some of the old Ray Allen sets for him and try get him moving off the curl to get to either a catch and shoot J or one, two dribble floater in the lane. Less dribbling around at the top of the key trying to break his man down, when explosiveness and handle aren't his two best attributes.

For a number of reasons, I think it's unlikely as you say. But it would be a hell of a culture tester.
