Since we are probably talking about the 9th or 10 man spot and Not a step in right away starter, Give the man his chance!!

If all goes as it should, this season will be heavy on garbage time. All binkies will have a chance to show what they have.

Yeah. But garbage time is a bad way to judge anyone...

He is. But he won't be my binky. I think he's an 8th guy already, even ahead of Pritchard.

He's beyond binky at this point, just a straight up guy that's gonna be a stud sooner or later. He'll rock Maine for a while then at some point will be undeniable. If I'm being rational, that's next season, but rational is no fun. I really did think he had a realistic chance at meaningful minutes post-draft, but Brad brought in guys that are a little more established in his role. He's still got a shot, but it's an outside one.

Hauser, Pritchard, Brissett are gonna establish themselves beyond binky level as well.

So, I went Stevens and Banton as my choices. Banton likely may not make it past October, but I can't get past my tall playmaker fetish. I belatedly added Gabriel since we can have 3.

I'm with you on this.

I'll also add this. When Danny was GM I seldomly liked the guys he was bringing in around the edges. He did well for the first 2-3 years of the KG/PP/Allen/Rondo era, but beyond that there were too many Mikki Moore, MDaniels, Dooling types. The list goes on. I thought he missed on a lot of available guys that would have really complimented the core. I felt like he struggled in that regard. He loved "tweeners".
Brad on the other hand, I think he's hitting home runs. I literally like every single guy he's brought in. I think because Brad's coached recently, he has a good pulse on the league and guys that will compliment his stars. Plus, Brad likes size. I think Walsh, Brissett, Stevens, Banton, Svi, and Hauser can all help if called upon. I think Gabriel, Quenta, and Kornet can make a decent big man depth behind KP/AH. Although, I still think Brad will bring in one more either before or during the season.

Kudos to Brad. This team is big, athletic, versatile, and every single guy he's brought in has a skill or two that can be useful.

Fair point that’s been brought up in a couple different ways, but I think a guy can graduate from Binky status once they establish themselves in the rotation. That’s kinda why I left it open for you to change your votes as well.

Jrue-White-Brown-Tatum-KP-AH-Pritchard-Brissett-Stevens-Walsh could end up the rotation for all we know.

To me that’s what makes this discussion so interesting is that it’s not just the recent draft pick or the guy we acquired as an asset when trading away an establish player as the only binky options. It’s 10+ options when you count the 2-ways. While that makes the depth an uncertainty, it also makes it very possible for multiple guys to step up and you can see multiple paths to success from the bench. Brad has done a great job of bringing in a lot of exciting options that all have some combo of size, they play hard, and/or bring unique skill-sets to the roster.

"Big, athletic, versatile" Yeah, I've been thinking Brad has a penchant for the same type of guys Ujiri likes up in Toronto, and that makes me pretty happy. Danny used to fill out the end of his bench with all his failed picks that he'd hang on to long after it was clear they weren't any good.

lol I'd checked SIX OF THEM and was heading for a 7th before wondering "is there a limit on how many we can vote for?"

so: Gabriel, Stevens, Walsh
also: Queta (love the bigs) and O'Shae and Banton
I will be the random guy on this board who believes in Banton

But I'm hyped for these high-energy, some-upside guys in their mid-20s (plus the 19-yo kid)

It's a fair point.

One one hand, Joe denied that he wants the C's to take 50 threes a game at media day, and he said he wants to diversify the offense more, get more shots closer to the basket. And with Rob gone (non-shooter), Smart gone (below league average shooter) and most of the time we'll have a floor spacing 5 in the game (KP and/or Al). All of this means that the guys on our bench who are questionable shooters (Kornet, gabriel, stevens, banton, walsh, brissett) could certainly have a chance at cracking the rotation.

With that being said, Joe (at media day) continues to emphasize spacing. So I'm thinking that he isn't gonna want more than 1 questionable shooter on the floor at a time. So 1 (or perhaps more than 1) of those questionable shooters I mentioned could crack the rotation..but it might be hard for 2 (or more) of them to be on the floor at the same time.

The good news is, we have plenty of shooters to put on the floor around them.

And there's a chance that with reps, development, and the right coaching..some of those guys (perhaps someone like Stevens, Walsh, Brisset or Banton) develops into a guy who can hit 34% (or better) from 3. They all have the potential to do it, imo.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

He shall now be called O'Shae as I like the Irish connection better than the Ice Cube connection with Oshae I was making in my head before your post.

JW on top for me. So glad they didn't move him in the Holiday trade. What a steal he could be. I also like Svi a lot with his offensive versatility, then Stevens for his obvious dog defense and attitude. Really looking forward to preseason and how spots 7-10 unfold.

It’s going to be Walsh for most people. “He was a top 10 recruit! Mazulla hates rookies and likes people who shoots 3s!”
