But who cares, his PPG are low, so he is obviously killing our offense.

Again a false narrative, in my opinion. G-Harris is "efficient" in that he has no volume to anything he does. That is: he is a void on offense except for the 6 FGa he takes per game.

There is a very real reason his PER was 10.5 last season. That places him at about the 300th "best" NBA player.

I'ts hard to blame the distributors, or even the offensive game plan, if every other player on the team is getting up more shots than you and you are the best shooter (by percentage) on the team. There are a lot of guys ahead of him who have no plays called for them and rely mostly on in-game opportunities to shoot. The fact is he's just not involved in the action. He doesn't rebound, doesn't assist, and rarely shoots. So what is the point of him?

This will be his fourth season in Orlando. If they haven't figured out how to get him open yet, and he's not figuring it out on his own, when exactly is that supposed to happen?

This really gets to another issue. Coach Mosley has not used his SGs effectively. Yes he is a new coach and yes his two best players are forwards, but it is in the title: Shooting Guards are there to shoot!

As this team moves to improve the SG rotation, Coach Mosley needs to devise offensive sets that are not 4-on-5 basketball. Indeed it is possible G-Harris is actually an "OK" player, and all the horrible stat lines of his are on coach. I am 50/50 who to blame for this ball movement fiasco that is derived from the SG slot.

Black's form is terrible, but he made the same number of 3s as Isaac and Suggs combined, in that clip. The ball going inside the metal circle is really the point.

(( looks to Ingles for how a ugly shot can be quite effective )).

Black has shooting form of 7'4 player who thinks his shot is unblockable ( because , if you are 7'4, it is ).

Like... how da hell are you going to shoot in nba without jumping?

btw clip vise, if shooter was as accurate as Isaac, 2pac would still be alive

What do you guys make of Suggs discussing his mindset change. Will be interesting to see I also hope that comes with playing smarter and maybe dial back how hard you play. Hopefully less of those reckless abandon drives to the basket that he gets hurt on.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Magic Season betting Odds
Wins over/under 35.5
Winning the SE division +850

Miami is at 48.5 wins....had they gotten Lillard...sure...but that team is a Butler or Bam injury away from the lottery. We are going to finish ahead of the Heat....Are we going to finish ahead of the Hawks, not sure, but i think we will be close.

That's my worry with Black, I don't know if he's going to be able to get that shot up in regular season game action. He couldn't do it in summer league.

Arnie Kander.

The Magic's new vice president of player performance and wellness. He's very highly regarded in NBA circles.

Here's another clip of Black throwing up a gross brick and Suggs/Isaac ripping the nets perfectly.

Falling under 36 wins would be a bummer. Winning the division would blow my mind.

I really am worried about our backup big situation. I expect WCJ to miss his customary 20-ish games or more. I think Mo is a PF and Goga is good for spot minutes but not to start 20 games if we need it. Would it be a good gamble to trade for the “loser” of this backup battle? I think all of Detroit’s centers are better than our backups while also being younger so there is potential upside. That said both Bagley and Wiseman won’t fetch much in return if they are 3rd string there. Would Okeke and a couple 2nds get it done?

I hear you, but for me Moritz is really good as a stretch 5, energy combo big.

I wouldnt be shocked to see PB and JI (if healthy) at the 5 during some unique situations.

Agree for an energy guy - I'm thinking as a starter though - requires pulling 25-30 minutes a game when WCJ goes down (again). I think Mo is a sparkplug bench guy, but if he is defending starting bigs for extended periods we are in trouble. Need more size and rim protection IMO

But not as starters if and when WCJ goes down again for an extended absence

Detroit's best center is Duren , and has most upside and most realistic chance at being above average player.

From pure phyiscality perspective, he is on that Dwight level when it comes to freakness of his athletics & mobility for person who is THAT big and THAT strong. Guy is like 19 and his muscles have muscles.
