Gotta give the guy a chance, so will come with an open mind.

I think it'll be a tough spot for him because he's just not going to have the kind of banked knowledge, anecdotes etc. that a more seasoned media guy will. That's obviously far more important for your color guy than the play by play, but I still think that's a big element of the value add for the role.

It's a pretty big swing from Gorman, who I think is basically universally loved, but hopefully he picks up the mantle and runs with it.

I hope he does great, but it's news like this that make me glad League Pass prices dropped last season lol. Cold reality to think no Mike and already no Tommy in the near future. No offense to Al, but they've gotta win this one for Mr. Gorman!

I guess I'm glad Grande and Max are staying together on the radio.
This guy will be the new straight man to Scal, who has hopefully grown into his broadcasting 'prime'.

Gorman has fallen off a cliff, so it won’t be hard to replace him when it comes to the actual game. Sorry not sorry.

But dude is a legend, and was one of the best PBP guys ever, IMO. Hopefully he gets to go out with a championship this year.

It's true, his heart doesn't seem in it and he's not calling with the same excitement he used to. I can't remember the last time he said "Got It!". It's understandable considering his age, but it's a good call for him to retire as it seems time. The one thing Mike hasn't lost his touch to is when we've had these various attempts at replacements for Tommy the chemistry issues haven't been on Gorman's side. He's still a chameleon on the mic.

Love Gorman, and while he isn't as bad as Marv Albert was in his latter years, he is losing it but that is to be expected as he will be 78 in a month.

I have no idea who this guy is and i was hoping it would be Grande.

I'm going to give him a chance. I listened to the video of him calling women's college basketball, and technically, he's pretty damn good. He has a good voice, pretty good inflection, he'll have to work on creating a personality. That said, I wonder if he knows all the hate that is going to come with his reaching his dream job. This is not any announcing job.
